Our flight lands at 2:30pm at MCO in 2 weeks! We are taking ME to All Star Sports. Assuming all goes well and on time, what is the earliest FP+ I should reasonably plan on booking at DHS? I was thinking 6 but wondering if we might make a 5 time slot?

You might make 5. Also might not. I'd start 'em at 6:00p or so.

Our rule of thumb is 3 hours from arriving at MCO to walking into a park, assuming there are no flight or airport delays. We allow 60-90 for airport/DME to arrive at the resort; 45 min for check in and going up to the room; 45 minutes Disney transportation to the park. The earliest I would schedule FP+ is 6:00.

6:00 is what popped into my head as well. We fly out of Philly and maybe 5 out of the last 50 flights I took left on time with delays ranging anywhere from 30 minutes to flat out canceled so I like to have a nice cushion around my expected arrival time. Once I do land at MCO I allot 60-90 minutes from the time I deplane to the time I arrive at the resort.

I think 6:00 - 7:00pm should be okay.

If you are making three fp's prioritize them. For example, book your absolute must do for 8-9pm and another must do for 7-8pm. Book the FP that won't leave you disappointed if you end up missing it from 6-7pm.

First off I'd check the park hours. From what I can see from now until the end of Feb DHS is only open until 7 most nights and only one or two go until 9:30 It might not be worth a full day's admission for only a couple of hours. Just something to keep in mind

But you could change it to later on MDE if necessary - right? We arrive at 2 pm and get a rental car from the airport to Boardwalk and also plan to go to DHS first. I have less transportation time to the park so I am planning on making my first FP+ for 5 pm.

We landed at 2:30pm in mid December and stayed at POR. Our first FP was for RnR from 5-6pm. We missed it. My family was so sad. I tried to make a change at about 4pm but it said there was no availability.

Yes, pending availability. I wouldn't risk it that late in the day.

Thanks for all the replies. DHS is open until midnight that night as it is President's Monday. (A big reason I want to make sure I have FP booked ad I know it will be busy). I was originally thinking we would do our 3 FP and then head to MK as it is open until 1 am, but I think instead I will push back the FP at DHS and stay there until close. Maybe we can hope to do our favorites with FP and then have shorter lines later in the night or during Fantasmic to ride them again.

I like the way you think! Stay put at DHS for the evening. Unless you have only a very short stay, you'd do better staying there and doing the MK stuff another time.

Thanks for all the replies. These boards are great help in my planning!

I'm arriving the day before you. My flight lands at 12:14 and my first FP+ is booked from 4 - 5. I had one booked for 3-4, but since it's so busy, I didn't want to chance a delay, missing my slot and not being able to rebook for later. I figure that 4-5 should give us plenty of time to land, catch DME, check in, get to the park and get situation. I figure if we have extra time we could ride the PeopleMover or see philharmagic or do something that typically has little to no wait.

We will also be at DHS on President's Day.
