Was just poking around on the Delta sight this morning.

We have a trip planned for September 13 - 19. The plan is to take the late Southwest flight out of Nashville on the 13th and the late flight back to Nashville on the 19th.

On the Delta site today I found flights for those days for $147 (with taxes). Also if we leave mid-afternoon on the 13th and return the morning of the 20th, I found a Sky-Saver flight. So for two extra vacation days, plus one additional resort night at Pop Century, but only about 3/4 day extra at Disney, I can get both of us there for less than $200. Coming home there is a layover in Atlanta. Plus, the leg from Orlando to Atlanta, one of us would be on an 8:30am flight, the other on a 9:30 am flight, but would be on the same plane from Atlanta.

Southwest is kind of high right now, but I'm almost positive it will come down to at least $59 each way with preferred flight times and direct flights. Plus, we have about $40 in credits that have to be used by December.

So what do you think, jump now on the Delta, or wait on Southwest??

If you're basing your decision partially on schedule, I wouldn't count on Delta's to stay the same; they're known for changing flights/times, etc., often without notifying the passenger.:sad2:
If your stomach can't take the suspense involved in waiting for a SW Ding or internet special, then Delta may work better for you.:)

I use SW, but I'm willing to spend the time and effort in waiting for their "deals"; I have never NOT gotten good fares (some are better than others, but all are at least the same or lower than the best fares offered by any other carrier).:thumbsup2 I'd rather be proactive with SWA than aggravated by another carrier's whimsical changes! :goodvibes

I was waiting for SW fares to go down as well but found a pretty good deal on Frontier and booked it because I was afraid the rising fuel costs would create another round of fare hikes. Our situation is a little different though as we are flying home on Labor Day weekend so I would really be surprised if anything spectacular is offered.
