Flight Cost Concerns

Hi to everyone
We (family of 4) are nervously watching and waiting for some airline prices to become REAL. We flew down YHZ to MCO the past two years 12/27-01/10 and tickets costs were much less that what they are quoting this year. We generally had our tickets bought by now! Anyone else in the same situation. What are your thoughts on this?? :surfweb:

Drive across the border and fly from the closest American airport. Your cost should be cut in half. I live 20 minutes from Toronto Pearson and you'd have to pay me to fly from there to Orlando.

I totally agree.. flying out of the states is SO much easier and cheaper!
In fact I won 4 round trip tickets from Toronto and I am trying to get them to change it to Buffalo and if not I would rather pay myself then fly out of Toronto.
Plus they want me to pay the tax on the tickets out of TO and the taxes on 4 tickets IS 4 RT tickets on SW, so it is way better that way!
Look into seeing which airport is closest to you and see what they offer.

HTH

I can totally relate! It's not as easy as driving over the border when you live where we live! It is a good 12 hour drive to the border. We watch closely and sometimes you can get a decent deal but you have to check daily. We used airmiles this time because the ticket prices were outrageous. Some friends got tickets around $500 on Canjet so it can be done. Just keep checking! Good Luck!

We are a family of 5 and looking at airfare even cheap flights on SWA out of Buffalo or Detroit it doesn't make sence over driving we can drive for less than half the cost of flying. We lease our van so it will go back by the time the warranty is up so mileage and so on is of no concern for us. We just can't justify the price of flying when we look at the cost of driving and the enjoyment our family has during the drive.

We too are patiently waiting for flights from YHZ to MCO. We are a family of 5 and it really irks me the price of the tickets :furious: . Last year when we priced it was coming in around 2300 then shot up to 4000, thank goodness they are back down some. We're trying to book for next March but the flights aren't out yet, we're hopefull they won't go up too much. Air Canada is really high, i've been looknig through Westjet and Canjet..also cheaptickets.ca had some American carriers really reasonable.
