Flight booking question

I've been watching airfare for the last several months in anticipation our trip 8/04. Prices for my travel dates will come out approximately by the end of 8/03 for most of the major airlines. As soon as I zero in on the fare I'm willing to pay, I'm purchasing my tickets. My only concern is that there's a higher chance that there will be changes to flight schedules before my travel date. How do those of you who purchase tickets in advance deal with this? My plan was to book a hotel room a day before WDW to give us a little breathing room.

Except for really popular travel dates, it is better to wait for a sale (fare war) instead of buy at their everyday low prices.

Even if schedules change, you have locked in your fare when you buy your ticket. If schedules change, you should be able to pick any other flight that is not sold out, or at your option get a full refund.

Keep watching and when you see a great price with the times you want to travel buy it.

Then you don't have to worry if the price goes higher. It does seem if the airlines change flights they are more flexible with changing or refunding your money.
