Which airlines are as flexible as southwest?
Like changing flight times days or cancelling, with out penalty.
I need to fly into Ohare, and southwest does not. Midway is not going to work.
Thanks
The legacy carriers (American, Delta, United/Continental, US Airways) all offer ticketing classes that are very flexible, with tickets that can be changed without a fee and can be cancelled for a complete refund. In addition to being flexible, such ticketing classes often include free checked luggage.
The problem is these ticketing classes tend to be much more expensive than the "Super Saver" fares that most of us a looking for when booking leisure travel. The "Super Saver" fares are usually completely nonrefundable, have stiff fees for any changes, and do not include free checked luggage.
Southwest provides better flexibility, credits when fare go down, and free checked luggage. Yet, over and over, people on this board have complained when Southwest's fares are slightly higher than the legacy carrier's "Super Saver" fares.
You are correct that Southwest flies to Chicago-Midway, not Chicago O'Hare. The two airports are around 30 miles apart.
If you need flexibility, the two choices are (1) Southwest Airlines and (2) flexible booking classes on other carriers.
