Flat Stanley Project

We sent FS to my brother who lives in New Orleans and worked, at the time, at both the Aquarium and the Zoo. We have great pictures of FS sleeping on the back of a bear that had been tranquilized for medical treatment, next to the window with the white alligators, etc. Also FS went to Jackson Square and had his fortune told, caught some beads at a Mardi Gras parade, etc. It was so great!!!!! My brother said said guy was walking down the street (drunk, obviously) and said, "Yo, Flat Stanley." !!!!!!

We saw people taking pictures with Flat Stanley on one of the statues at the entrance to the Lost Continent at Islands of Adventure last week. My kids had no idea who Flat Stanley was! I had to fill them in.

I was going to post about Clint Eastwood brining him to the Oscars, which I thought was hilarious, but I see Lars624 beat me to the punch

I just got Flat Stanley in the mail today from my brother for my nephew's 1st grade class. I have never heard of it so I had no idea what the heck to do with it!

I called my brother and asked him what I was supposed to do with the darn thing and he laughed at me and said that obviously I couldn't handle a 1st grade project!!

I guess FS will come to Tampa with us this weekend to see a couple of Red Sox games, and maybe a ride or two on Splash Mountain

I am a first grade teacher (best job in the whole WORLD) in upstate NY. I do "Flat Stanley " with my class and they love it. If you send one to the White house (Address it to Mrs Bush) she will "write" a great letter back and send photos of the dogs etc. The kids loved it. I am amazed at all the work some parents, relatives put into Stanley. We incorporate Stanley into so many of our academic subjects. Soc. Studies of course, Writing (we wirte letters intoducing Stanley and fof course thank you letters.etc. Clint Eastwood had a Flat Stanley with him this year at the Oscars. I am going to take Stanely with me on this trip (July) My class will be done for the school year but I am going to make post cards and send one to each of them from WDW.

My 5 year old DD in Kindergarten did Flat Stanley this year for spring break. We sent him to my DH's cousin in Seattle. Flat Stanley sold girl scout cookies, went to the space needle and Safeco park.

I do Flat Stanley with my kindergarten class. We look at a map, and the kids are excited to show their family and friends with their Flat Stanley. The kids LOVE it!
