Flat Irons

So how much does this K-Pak? cost ya per treatment? (buying it from Ulta to do it yourself?)

It runs about $20 a bottle (give or take depending on region and where you buy it). The local salons often carry it a little cheaper because they set their own prices.

The average bottle (aka not travel or backbar size), depending on the length and thickness of your hair, can provide 6-10 treatments. You want the hair fairly coated, but not completely saturated.

I'm going to take the plunge & buy a CHI today. :thumbsup2 I haven't researched much since I don't know what the salon has in stock......so I really don't know what I want.
What are your thoughts on the Wet/Dry one? How does it not fry your hair if it's still a tad damp?

Also, are there any heat protectants that won't break the bank? Any that I can pick up at my local Target - without spending $30/bottle @ the salon?

I have a new hobby: trying to find a great flat iron (without breaking the bank on a GHD :lmao:).
These look interesting, from http://infrashine.com/ or the Babyliss Nano http://www.folica.com/BaByliss_Pro_Na_d3975.html.
Would love feedback - TotalSnowWhite - any thoughts?

I've never heard of Infrashine, but the Babyliss irons are pretty decent for thin to medium hair. It's not as versatile as the CHI, but it will get your hair straight.

I don't have any personal experience with the W2D irons, but our distributor isn't a fan (and they sell them).

Don't buy any professional products at Target (which would still run about the same or higher than your local salon, anyway). Frizz Ease serum would work pretty well. I recommend a serum rather than a spray or cream.

Thank you - sounds like what I'm looking for! My hair is thick. Its wavy, fine, thin to med. thickness and frizzy. I'm looking for a good iron that is great for my type of hair & that doesn't snag. I will check out Babyliss, anything else worth checking out, before I buy this one?

I got a Cricket 1-inch iron for one of my clients with thin-medium hair, and it works well for her. They run about $80-$100 retail.
