Flashes for the G11

If there anything I realize I need at this point... it's a flash.

So the 270 seems great because it's so small but most reviews say it's a very small step up.

The 430 seems like what I should get. Specifically the 430exII

The 580 just seems too big.

My question is, what would you choose? The built in flash on the G11 doesn't cut it most of the time.

A consideration is being able to carry it around the parks, the 230 shines there... but what is the point if it isn't going to do enough. I usually have a backpack so it's not that big of a deal I suppose.

Before I get another camera, I'm going to learn how to properly use my G11 and I need a flash no matter what.

So 430exII or something else? Also, can I use one of these on a non canon if I get a nikon or something non-canon down the road?
