Flashback from the eighties

"Heat of the Moment" by Asia is playing. I loved all their hits "Only Time Will Tell" "Don't Cry" and "The Smile has left your eyes."

(sigh) I feel so old.

Now it's "Would I lie to you?" by the Eurythmics (sp?)

I love Annie Lennox's solo stuff, too. "Why" is so awesome!!

OMG!!! I forgot about this song! Anybody remember "I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching Me?" I can't remember who sang it and I didn't hear the DJ say it. I think it was a one hit wonder for this guy, but Michael Jackson sang backup.

Speakin of one hit wonders of the 80s

Does anyone remember:

Rocky Burnett's Tired of Toeing the Line

If someone has posted this little beauty then I apologize but now I'm stuck in the 80s.

How about a little Twisted Sister. We're Not Gonna Take It.

That was Rockwell (a one-hit wonder) with uncredited background vocals by Michael Jackson.

What about Culture Club and Boy George? He was so flamboyant ... I loved him! My favorites songs were "Karma Chameleon", ""Do You Really Want to Hurt Me", "I'll Tumble 4 Ya" and "Miss me Blind".

I am loving this thread -- I know almost all of the songs! I am one of Billy Joel's biggest fans.

this is what popped into my head tonight:

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.

Bye, bye, its been a sweet love.
Though this feeling I can't change.
But please don't take it badly,
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.
Lord help me, I can't change.

I saw a video clip -- was it on VH! Behind the Music? Right after the plane crash, the surviving members of the band did a performance, they did an insrrumental version of Free bird, with a spotlight on the part of the stage where Ronnie Van Zant would have been singing. So sad and so powerful a memorial to their friend.

That is one of those swaying cigarette lighter songs! In the 2000's they now use cell phones :lmao:.

It's just not the same if you don't burn your thumb. Um, not that I ever smoked or anything. Well, not cigarettes anyway. :rolleyes1

Kids today. Sheesh. :confused3 :rotfl:

Can't forget those Beastie Boys' "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)"
