I agree it is rude when people think they know better and don't have to obey the rules. It is very distracting to others for someone to be using there flash when they aren't suppose to. As for the flash being bad for the paint and fabric I dunno about that??? But I kn ow you can't take flash photos in most musuems and I thought that was why, so it might be true.

The kid was taking pictures all through POTC. If it was supposed to be that bright they would have turned the lights on in the ride. I can ride it anytime but I felt bad for those people riding it for the first time.
I have taken flash pics on rides where it is not prohibitted. I love to relive my trips through my pics...I do not and will not take pics with the flash where it is not allowed. I have used my night or action settings to get decent pics without flash. Just follow the rules
