I watched it again and still cried. LOL, such a sap! Then I went through and watched more of the youtube videos from the 55th and kept right on crying.

Have you all seen this one? It is a ten minute summary of the events of the day and is quite well done. Vintage footage and footage from the celebration.

Wow...Just wow. That summary was fantastic. I totally cried!

^ Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, you are correct, it's the Evil Queen, not Maleficent. I have the 2 bears from "Brother Bear" listed already (Koda and Kenai). Ooooh, Honest John! Where? Nice one!

Nice, I had no idea what their names were. I saw Honest John floating around, it seemed like they had to escort in his buddy because of the heat. What does that get us up to like 53?

Good eye! I haven't seen Honest John - and I have watched so many videos! hahaha! That puts me at 53.

Interesting that no Winnie the Pooh characters were out. Also, no Prince Charming, Eric, or Bert. Wondering if they were there somewhere and I just can't spy them or if they just weren't there. Also, wondering if Maleficent is there somewhere, or if I just put the wrong name down when I saw the Queen.

One more edit, I don't think Tinker Bell was out there. I'll have to review photos and videos. I'm sure if it is that close there was 55 somewhere. If it doesn't come to me by this weekend I'm calling the Volunteer Cavalcade and DLR's president characters and calling it a day lol.

Also, no Prince Charming, Eric, or Bert.

They pulled out beast, but none of the other princes. I was kind of disappointed for no love hehe.

flash mobs are great i am sorry i missed this one. i have been apart of one before. that is awesome that disney did this!

You can see my mom and daughter (and me sort of) to the right of center...they have on white shirts and their yellow birthday ears! We were right in front of you....NOT my daughter being held up. We were on the curb sitting in the shade before it started because the ropes around the center were 2-3 people deep when we arrived. Then they moved all those people back and we had an amazing FRONT row view. I literally cried right then and there. We almost didn't go...got horribly delayed waiting for the Tiki show, but got out in time and raced over there....if you share a birthday with Disneyland you MUST be at the Happy Birthday sing along :) They told us backstage when we waited for the parade that there were 51 characters...not sure they knew the exact number, but it was THRILLING!

That is my daughter Grace right behind Cinderella. She wanted to seee her so badly because she is her little cousin's favorite and she requested a picture of Grace and Cinderella which we didn't even attempt to get. We got so lucky and she was right by us when the ropes dropped. AND we made it to Jasmine who is my daughter's favorite AND Grace got to hold Ariel's hand as she was led away by the CMs...and she told Grace "what she always says to me....I love your hair!" We've only been there twice, but apparently that made a huge impact on my daughter :rotfl:

Hmmm.... It was an amazing Disneyland event. It was an opportunity for the Cast Members to do something fun and different for the guests. It was a celebration to honor their place of employment. It was a chance for them to do something fun and share it with the guests in the Park that day.

I spoke with some CMs after everyone went away. They were there participating on their own time. They attended rehearsal on their own time to learn the dance. Seeing the various costumes showed how mixed the CMs who participated were. I thought it was an amazing Disneyland event. It was energetic. It was unique. It was very special to see. I loved it. It was a very special Disneyland event.

I agree. It was the highlight of our day. Our CM who helped us into the parade said they had learned the dance the night before and his mom was in the crowd watching him  He was soooo proud to have been part of that and was so grateful to hear how much we appreciated it. My daughter could not stop talking his ear off about how exciting it was!

Aladdin was there! We consider him a prince :)

I think there was supposed to be 55 for the 55th, but I've only seen 53 from what I saw in person and in videos. Perhaps I need to expand my definition of character.
Our Volunteer Cavalcade leader said 51 actual characters. He was out there, but he did not consider himself a character. He said they were as surprised as everyone else when they were backstage and saw all the characters. He said they were running around and getting photos taken with some of the rarely seen ones also

my*gracie*girl, very cool that I caught your family in a picture. I have looked through my other shots to see if any of you are in them, but you are not. All my shots from where I (we) watched the dancing shows the tip of a blue hat someone in front of me was wearing and someone with a red baseball cap. But I DID look. hehe

Raindown, not that it matters because we may never know if there were exactly 55 characters out there, but I realized in the list above where you added Honest John that he is the SAME as "Felonious Fox" who is on the list already. :goodvibes

"Felonious Fox" is not a character. He goes by Honest John, Foulfellow Fox, or J. Worthington Foulfellow.

MonkeyDishwasher,

If you reference post 38 in this thread, I wrote a post that includes a list of characters. You will see that number 20 on that list is "Felonious Fox." In post 41, Raindown made some comments on the list, one of which was adding "Honest John." In post 54, I was simply pointing out that the character on my list noted as "Felonious Fox" is in fact the same as "Honest John" (who is also known as "J. Worthington foul fellow").

I refer to him "Felonious Fox" because in my collection of Disney art, I have owned the following piece from the Walt Disney Classics Collection for over 5 years:

Image_Resize_Medium.asp

The piece is called, "J. Worthington Foulfellow: Felonious Fox"

While it is not his proper name, he is indeed a character: the same one that Raindown added to my list under the name "Honest John." Inn my post that you quoted, I was simply pointing out he was already accounted for on the list.
