Flash drives

Is a flash drive the same thing as a jump drive?

I tried googling for the info but didn't find the answer to this one....

I think so. DH has referred to flash drives as jump drives before.

yes. Flash drive, jump drive, usb drive, thumb drive, all the same thing.

Yes they are all flash drives, as in flash memory.

I think Lexar calls theirs "jump" drives.

Thankyou!! So they're ALL storage devices with varying amounts of space to hold whatever?
And you can use these without software right? I should be able to put it in the USB port and click on "my computer" to find it and open it? LOL

Yep. You'll find them in 32mb, 64mg, 128mb, 256, 512 and 1gig+. You SHOULD be able to just plug them into the USB drive and have it show up as a drive letter. Just a warning that if you happen to be running Windows ME, it probably won't work. One of my PCs is still running ME and hardly anything shows up when it's a USB device (and it's a known bug with ME).
