Flame Tree or Tusker House?

Flame Tree - i will just get an order of fries and a gallon of sauce.

We tried Tusker House last week for the first time, and the chicken was awesome! It was SOOOOO good. The mashed potatoes and green beans were also delicious. We had to wait in line to order for 10-15 minutes, but it was worth it. I also had to search for a table...it was packed! A lady grabbed a table next to ours before the people had even cleared their stuff off, and two CMs politely told her they were about to clean it off for someone else who was waiting. (They were walking toward the table when they saw the people leaving so they could clean it for a lady who they were helping to find a table.) I thought there was going to be a fight! It was crazy! It ended up that the CMs left the table snatcher alone and told the waiting lady they would help her find another table.

We checked out Flame Tree and while the food looked good, we were desperate for some air conditioning! I was very pleased with TH. We also enjoyed Pizzafari last year. I just wish I was back at AK trying to decide where to have my free lunch again! I WANT TO GO BACK!!!!

I've had great meals at both, and I've had "bleh" meals at both. I guess it also depends on what kind of food you're in the mood for at the time, too!

Flame Tree without a doubt. Down here in NC we have great BBQ, and this stuff was awesome. I got the ribs and DH got the chicken and we split it. They were both so good. The corn on the cob was sweet and buttery and the beans were terrific (and I don't even like baked beans!)

IS Tusker House near he entrance of the park? Near where they have an interactive music show? My kids played the drums last time and loved it.

Guess which one we chose last week? We went with Tusker House and it was fabulous, the best counter service all week and my FIL announced their chocolate cake was the best he'd ever tasted. The seating is ample, clean, and air conditioned. Lines were short, food was fresh and good, and service was quick.

I want to try Flame Tree, I have no doubt it's great and it smells wonderful but I refused to sit outside and sweat while I ate. It was HOT!

Tusker House for many reasons on us. We like the food options better, my husband loves the salmon, and my kids love the chicken leg and mash taters. It is also a great place to eat in the summer because it has A/C. Just an extra bonus.

Tusker House was THE BEST counter service we had in the parks...the chicken sammie was good and the desserts were yummy! Plus there are Africian dancers outside who are very fun to watch and pick kids to dance with them!

Next May we plan to try Tusker House. This past trip we ate at Flame Tree and 6 out of 7 of us thought it was horrible. The ribs were dry and tasteless and the beans were nasty. Never again.

Usually not a problem unless someone nearby begins feeding them. Then, ooh boy, watch out is right!

we normally eat at Tusker House, I love the chicken and the veggies, but I don't like the garlic mashed potatoes. We are going to give flame tree a try this time around

I wanted to try Tusker House this next trip but I just love to sit at Flame Tree, out back with a view of the water and Everest. Depending on the time of year it's really peaceful back there. The food is pretty good too

I cannot comment on Tusker house since every time I go to AK I have to have the ribs at Flame Tree. I have had BBQ all over the south and I have to say these ribs rank right up there. They are dry rub ribs so if you like them wet you will be disappointed. But I have to say I also love their sauce. One of these days I will have to just break down and try Tusker house though.

I choose Flame Tree over Tusker House because it is hard for me to find good barbeque here in New Jersey. The food at Tusker House is good, but I want my smoked pork sandwich!

I have to vote for Tusker House. Don't get me wrong I love Flame Tree but there is just something about TH. They have a great fried chicken sandwich with steak fries (their steak fires are awesome). They also have a meal that has a baked chicken breast with mashed (I always sub out the mashed for the steak fries). The atmosphere is great as well, many times some African dancers and drummers have performed as we ate our lunch! AWESOME!
