Flame Tree BBQ refurbishment?

Does anyone know what the refurbishment of the Flame Tree BBQ entails? The food is good, but what makes this place special is the seating set up with the various pagoda type buildings, especially the ones right on the lake with a view of Mt Everest. So I'm hoping that they haven't changed that at all and just spruced it up. Does anyone here know?

They are adding a light show to the park. Thats the only reason for the closure of Flame Tree. There is construction right along the waters edge. The food is still available from nearby carts, and most of the seating areas are still open normally. No need to worry about missing anything.

I don't know exactly what they are doing at Flame Tree, but it is absolutely not just for the light show. We were at AK in April on the day when it was originally supposed to re-open. Construction walls were up, construction workers were still in there working after rope drop. We could see through the door that the ground in front of Flame Tree (where you ordered) had been jack-hammered and the whole place was a mess. The seating areas were still there but they looked closed every time we went by.

So.....my husband got home tonight and explained it to me..... In addition to the work at the water edge, they are also adding some additional roofing at the entry where you order your meals. They are adding shaded overheads, so we won't be standing in the heat of the sun when waiting to order. Sounds like a win-win!!

So Flame Tree was supposed to re-open in the spring (still says that on Disney website). Touring Plans says closed until June 26. WDWmagic says opening in spring. I am hoping it's opening before June 26 since we go next week! Does anyone have any more info on opening date? Or someone that has been in the park tell us if it looks close to opening?
