Does anybody know if Flame Tree Barbeque at AK is open the week after Thanksgiving? I heard it's seasonal and don't know if that's for the summer months or later on. :confused3

Thanks!:thumbsup2

I know it says seasonal but we have never seen it closed and we have been there the week after T-day as well as the middle of Jan. and first week in Feb. when it is considered a very slow time. It has always been open! Good thing we think they are a pretty good counter service option and now that Tusker House has been converted to a full service buffet I cannot imagine Flame Tree will ever be shut down.

I agree. We've been in early-mid December and also in January and it's always been open. It's one of my favorite counter service restaurants. We enjoy taking our meal down to the covered dining areas behind the restaurant and sitting next to the water to watch the turtles and fish swimming around. It's very peaceful with lush landscaping and colorful shelters.

We were there the week after T-Day last year and it was opened. We have been there in April and May as well and it was also opened. Great ribs - especially for counter service and oh that chocolate cake. YUMMY!! I plan to have lunch their when I am at the AK in December:santa: .

Same here. Have been there in Apr, May, Aug, Sep, Dec, Jan and it's always been open.

It was seasonal in the early days of AK but no way would it be any more. Especially with Tusker House becoming a table service (buffet). Yak & Yeti will have a counter service but Flame Tree has become too popular not to stay open.

I've never known it to be closed at all. I say it's a pretty good bet you can eat there. Have some ribs for me!

Well - there's a new one on me. I never knew it was listed as seasonal. Because it's always open when we are there. Where the heck else would be be able to eat our beer and pretzel combo from the stand across the path?

As I recall, all of the seating is outdoors. So, it may be open if it's freezing cold, or pouring rain, but in such a "season" I wouldn't want to eat there.

Actually we were there last Thursday and DH loved it.

I remember when it was seasonal, but it hasn't been that way for a few years.
