We visited AK on 9/7, and had lunch at Flame Tree.
DH and I split a fries basket and we each had the BBQ chicken salad and iced tea.

once again, a great shaded spot for lunch and really good food. :thumbsup2

I'm so glad to hear that it's still good. I was there two years ago and had great food there and loved sitting by the lake eating. Thanks for the review.

I was there on 9/17, and it was a nightmare. I don't know how the food was because I never got any food. We waited for a half hour, and the line barely moved, so we left.

Usually at Disney coutner service restaurants, the line moves fairly quickly because the number of menu choices is limited, so they can get the food out fast. Flame Tree BBQ's menu is pretty small, but they were not getting the food out at all. Very disappointing.

We wound up going to Pizzafari. The line there was almost as long, but we had our food in less than 10 minutes.

We eat at Flame Tree every time we go to Animal Kingdom. We either have the ribs or the barbecued pork sandwiches. I get my husbands beans because he hates beans and I let him have my dessert...so he gets two at this meal. We love Flame Tree.

I ditto an abover reviewer, the BBQ sandwiches are very good! If you sit at the right spot, you can watch some of the performances outside!

Our family of 5 had lunch at FlameTree for the first time on Sept 24 and it was great!
Granted, the lines were long and moved pretty slow, but in the AK you don't have too many CS options so I was determined to wait it out. I am so glad we did! Once we placed our order, the food was up in less than a minute. Although the place was packed, we found a perfect table down by the water with a great view of EE!! DH had the chicken, which he said was very moist and flavorful. I had the ribs - MmmmMmmmmMmmm!!! I can't remember what the kids ordered, but they also shared our ribs and chicken and loved them!!! Everyone enjoyed the key lime pie for dessert.

I would say FlameTree was one of the best CS meals of our 8 day trip.

We do the Flame Tree every time we go to the AK. I just have to have those ribs and my wife just has to have that chicken. I think this is about the best CS food on property.

We ate at Flametree on 9/27 and didn't care much for it, but we're southern and spoiled by great BBQ. DH had a pulled pork sandwich which he called "decent" and I had the turkey sandwich which I call "eh".

If I could do it over I'd have ordered the chicken.

I ate at Flame Tree for lunch around 1:30 on 9/26; it was the longest line I had to wait in all day at AK, but that's due to Tusker House being closed for remodeling into a buffet and Yak & Yeti not being ready yet, so a lot of folks picked Flame Tree to eat. I had the 1/2 chicken, baked beans, slaw and a diet coke. Found a table back on the water with a nice view of Everest. Food was very good (well, the slaw wasn't mixed very well, the first bite had no flavor at all, the last was almost all vinegar, but if I had stirred it it would have been good) and filling.

Thank for posting your review. I love this place. It is one of the places we go every single trip.:goodvibes

I tried the pulled pork sandwich last time. Eh, not my favorite. IMO, it was very light on the meat and not too much flavor. (A little extra sauce fixed that problem :thumbsup2 ).

We ended up there again with the rest of our family on evening EMH night. Had the ribs this time. Just as good as ever! I do like to dip mine though into the different sauces.

My DH alternates between the chicken and the ribs. Both are always yummy.:cheer2:

Flame Tree BBQ is also one of my faves. We plan on eating there on our trip later this month. I love the seating below the restaurant by the water. It's great to see the boat with the characters go by while eating lunch.

I ate there last thursday. I really enjoyed the BBQ chicken salad. It was very fresh and tasty. I also liked watching the ducks and cranes wander around the seating area.

We tried FT in April and thought it wasn't bad. I admit though, the line thing can be frustrating....there seemed to be little order as you wait for your food. Also if you go during a busy time, good luck finding a seat, they have very few seats in the couple of seating areas they offer.

Thanks for the review!! We are going to try it for the first time in Jan. when we go. I loved Tusker House but looks like it's no longer an option. We tried Pizzafari last trip and it was fine. I was reading up on AK cs in our book last night and decided on this one. Glad to get on here and read some good reviews!
