I really wish they would lift the dates. We are going August 2-5 and probably again in December, so I really want to buy another seasonal pass (mine has expired), but looks like a 3 day pass for me...

Poohbear123. If you buy the 3-day you should be able to upgrade to seasonal on your last day (after you have entered the park). Disney seems to be okay with this. You end up with 3 days in the "blackout period" and a a year of seasonal. We have friends who have done it, and we have asked about it at the gate and there apparantly is no rule against it. It wouldn't hurt to ask while you are there.

Well, I already Have a Seasonal Pass that runs out Nov. 12 I believe. So, I was thinking of using AAA to re-new the pass. Or, maybe I can re-new it now, and just start using it?

Yep, they will renew 30 days before to 30 days after your expiration date. But, your expiration date will remain the same on the renewed pass.

Check out the back of your pass, mine says "Valid thru 01/13/07". I renewed in mid-December of '05 and didn't use it till late January of '06, but my anniversary date remains 1/13. If I had renewed when I went in late January, my "valid thru" date would have remained 1/13.

I think when you renew your expiration is one year from the expiration of your previous pass, so, for example, if your pass expires 8/31/06 you can renew it from 8/1/06 until 9/30/06, but the expiration date will be 8/31/07 no matter when you renew it or use it. That is why I have yet to take advantage of the renewal discount. I always just get a new pass when we take our next trip. I figure if our next rip is not for several months, I would rather have the extra pass time than the discount.

That's true. Our AP's expired in December, but we didn't get back down until January. They renewed it, but it was still a December anniversary that will mean we'll be renewing in December again. I think they pro-rated it though for the month we were over.

One important addition to the post above that Disney puts in the fine print: Seasonal Passes DO NOT INCLUDE parking. You must pay that separately (unless you are staying onsite and get a resort parking pass). I think theme park parking is up to $9 a car now? Crazy prices.

You get a small discount if you renew each year within 30 days of your expiration date. DH's renewal this year was $199. I've had the Florida Resident Annual (which I believe is cheaper than an AP if you don't live in FL) and the Florida Resident Seasonal and the only difference, besides the price, that I've found is that parking is not included, and of course the block-out dates. But, honestly, the block-out dates have only been an issue for me twice in 12 years! While I'm blocked out at Disney I use my Busch Gardens Pass, not the same but still fun With the Seasonal you still get PI entry discount, discounts at World of Disney, and any other discount perks AP's get, including resort discounts. I think it's a very good deal. Also, if you are a FL resident and buy the play-three-day pass (anyone remember when you used to get 4 days on that pass?) you can upgrade it to a FL Resident Seasonal or Annual Pass.
