My family will be in DW for about 4 days with my in-laws who live in-state. We are not residents, but would love to save a few bucks.

Can we use FLA discount tix?
Can the in-laws purchase through AAA discount as FLA residents?

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated...

THANKS!!

If you are using FL Res tickets you need a FL ID. Sorry no way around it. And they do check. :)

Your inlaws can purchase their own tickets through AAA as FL residents but you as out of state residents will not be able to use FL tickets, they absolutely check IDs everytime you enter a park with a FL resident ticket. I suppose if your kids are too young for IDs then your inlaws could get away with bringing them in using FL tickets but you'd have to coach your kids to lie and say they really live in FL and not whereever you live... sounds too complicated to me.

Yep, what they said above ::yes:: can't get the FL Res tickets if you're not a resident BUT if there is a FL Res discount on the resorts and your in-laws book a room they can also book up to 2 more rooms at that FL Res rate - if that helps you any :sunny:

Ticket requirements are:

In order to take advantage of the Florida Resident Offers at Walt Disney World you must show proof of Florida Residency:

VALID Florida Drivers License

VALID Florida State issued ID card (MUST have Florida address)

VALID Voters Registration Card with corresponding picture ID

VALID Florida Based Military ID - Florida Military Bases

Pensacola Naval Air Station
Hurlburt Field Air Force Base
Eglin Air Force Base
Tyndall Air Force Base
Panama City Coastal Systems Station (Navy)
Jacksonville Naval Air Station
Mayport Naval Station
MacDill Air Force Base
Patrick Air Force Base
Miami Coast Guard Station
Clearwater Coast Guard Air Station
Homestead Air Reserve Base
Key West Naval Air Station
United States Southern Command (Miami)

VALID College ID (MUST be a Florida college)

9/05: Utility statements are no longer accepted as proof of residency.

Each adult in the party is required to have a Florida ID.

Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and can not be purchased for out of state family or friends.

Where can you buy annual florida resident passes? Can you get them at the ticket booths at the entrances to the parks? We just built a home in Kissimmee and are going to get our Florida picture ID's next week and want to get florida resident passes. Thanks!

You can purchase FL resident AP's at just about any ticket booth. You can even buy them online. They will send you a voucher to turn in at any park. You will show your proof of FL residency (FL ID's) and they will change them to regular AP's.

We purchased our renewal that way. Prior to that we had purchased the FL Resident Play 4 ticket. We got the voucher and when we went to change it, DH decided to go ahead and upgrade back to our Seasonal AP's.

"In order to qualify for Florida Resident pass discounts, you have to show proof of residency such as a valid Florida driver's license or Florida state ID card, showing a Florida address. These passes are also controlled using a biometric finger scan, to prevent them from being transferred to non-Florida residents. Disney has the system down to a science -- trust me, you really can't buy or use these passes unless you actually live in Florida!

The only exception is small children -- since Disney can't reasonably require them to show residency through an ID, it's technically possible for Florida residents to buy Florida resident passes for non-resident kids. For instance, if Grandma and Grandpa live in Florida, they could accompany their grandkids who live outside Florida to Walt Disney World, and buy the kids Florida resident passes."

This a direct quote from mousesavers.com, so don't everyone get on their high horses and start flaming me! :rolleyes1

Don't have enough time to buy them online as we are leaving on wednesday so I guess we will buy them at the ticket booth. Planning on getting the proof of Florida residency on thursday and then will get our tickets. Thanks!

If my parents (FL residents) buy tickets for my kids, will the kids always have to be with my parents to get into the parks?
