Fl Tours - Buyer Beware

Hello, all -

I just wanted to say thank you to those who have expressed regret over our experience. That was so nice, especially since I really didn't write my post to just bellyache. We truly did not want other posters to have the same problem we did - especially when the company is a sponsor.

I'm sad we had that experience, too - but the great news is that it did not in any way dampen our trip once we arrived at our fabulous accommodations (Wilderness Lodge)! And so our little guys' first trip to WDW was really great and as parents - we enjoyed every minute of experiencing it with them!

Thanks again,

:flower3:

Hi,

Just wondered when did the company change hands?

In Aug 05 when we went our plane was 11 hrs delayed and we did not land @ Sanford until midnight.

We were so relieved they were there after our nightmare journey, we have booked them for July 06. :)

I am now worried if company has changed hands - can anyone recommend another company. I think we are giving them good buisness as we want a return from Sanford to SSR and also we are having a return to the DCL from SSR. $440 plus tips is a lot is service has gone down hill! :worried: :worried:

I'm not sure about the company changing hands.... What I can tell you is that Andy was the owner of the company with whom we had so much trouble and that our trip was the last week of September, 2005. So, if the company changed hands last month....our experience occurred before that happened.

Good luck and hope this helps!

I'm going to chime in as another who had a somewhat negative experience with FL Tours...

We used them last April. Our flight arrived on time and there was nobody waiting at the foot of the escalator, as we were told. We proceeded to the baggage claim and, while trying to get our bags off the belt, I got an angry call from the driver, asking where we were. He said he was in the baggage claim area, but when we asked him where, he said just to meet him by the escalator. It took him a few minutes to get there, so I am skeptical he was even in the area. Anyway, he showed up with a very grumpy attitude, basically blaming us for not finding him right away (like we snuck around the escalator). Funny thing is, it made no difference, because we were still waiting for our bags anyway!

Our grocery stop wasn't much better. He indicated before the stop that he was on a really tight schedule, so we had to make it quick. So we did just that, racing around the store to collect our list, but he was still visibly grumpy about having to actually make the stop.

To their credit, we had a very cheerful and helpful driver on the way back, but we were still soured enough to not to use them again.

I haved used Florida Tours several times in the past 3 or 4 years and have never had a problem. I am not saying that they are perfect,or that the OP is being untruthful. But I have seen complimentary threads about FL tours also.

I am sorry you had a bad experience.

We have used FL tours twice and were very pleased.

The first pick up - they came in an SUV - brand spanking new - and the driver came into the grocery store with me to help me with my bags- dh stayed with the children in the car- they had car seats and everything.

They then drove us to the Cruise and although we had a town car ordered they showed up in a white stretch limo. They picked us up from there and shuttled us back to the airport- they were on time, pleasant and very accomodating.

The second time was April 2005. I ordered the service for my in laws- again no complaints. In fact we had driven down in our van and had mil wheelchair with us. The driver would go through the express tolls and pull over to wait for us until we caught up.

I have personally communicated with the guy who is "in charge" - just cannot remember his name. Unless something has changed there since April 2005 I would not hesitate to use FL tours again.

It is too bad you had this poor experience :confused3 and I am sure it ruined your start to your vacation.I agree that they should have done something to rectify and accomodate you given the situation. Do you think your driver misrepresented the situation to FL tours head office and this is why the information was misrepresented at the BBB?
