FL Seasonal Pass and AK

I am remembering that one year those with seasonal passes were allowed access to AK even during the summer blackout months. Did this happen or am I dreaming? Was it something that was preplaned, or did Disney throw this perk in later? Getting seasonal passes in May and just curious as to whether this info would already be out or could be thrown in later.

Yes...it did happen during the summer of 2001 but was not repeated during the summer of 2002. There is no word on whether it will ever be done again. I suspect it relys heavily on AK's attendance figures which, from what I've heard, are better than they were during 2001.
