Can anyone tell me historically, have the Florida resident discount rates on packages been better than non-Florida resident discount rates?

I'm waiting to see what comes out for December.

Thanks!

Florida residents don't get package discounts I beleive.

Usually the Florida resident rate is equivalent to the AP rate.

So Florida residents will get room only discounts (not package) and will be as good as AP rates?

I was wondering if I should change my package to a room only in anticipation of when the codes come out for Dec.

Thanks again!

Lately FL resident rates are about the same as AP rates, in the past FL resident rates were even better than AP rates but they didn't come out until a month or so before the actual booking time.

We have seasonal AP's so we always book room only. We also have the DDE card so we don't do any of the special dining plans. We usually stay at the S/D but when we don't we definitely go for the AP/FL resident rates at the WDW resorts.

You might want to change your reservation to a room only if you have access to park passes (whether they're AP's or the FL resident 3 day deal or whatever it is now). If your reservations are for early Dec. there should be some type of discount but it probably won't come out for a few months. You should be able to get a credit though if that rate is available where you are staying (sometimes they run out of the special rates quickly at certain resorts).

when you book a package you book at Rack rate as well.

for Jwfla: the swan and dolphin has an AP discount room as well ( not sure if it applies to seasonals)

Usually what I will do if I want a resident rate, I will book with Dreams and they will call CRO when the FL. Resident rates are released.

Didn't buy the annual pass this year. We've been redoing the house from all the hurricanes so, busy,busy...

We have been doing the occasional visit. My best friend is at the Boardwalk Inn this weekend with a rate of $150. It popped up while they were chatting and searching for rooms. I didn't see this rate advertised, but my buddy...by that point he had probably gotten to "So what are you wearing now?" So I don't know if that particular discount is available to anyone else.

We got an advertised rate at the YC good through the beginning of August for $189.00 a night. At that rate I'd go just to see if it was real. Usually the difference between AP and RES isn't much different.
