My 6 year old grandson lives in Florida with my former DIL; I am not a FL resident. I've looked at the online ticket reseller we have used previously and trust and they have FL resident tickets for sale. Don't know when I'll be going to WDW again but I'm always planning ... would I be able to purchase a FL resident ticket for just him? If so, what could I use to prove his FL residency? Thanks!

An adult with proof of Florida residency will need to be there with him when he activates the ticket. With resellers - you typically don't need to do anything with residence at purchase - it's activating it at the park which is the key point. (It's the same with ordering from Disney directly as far as activating the ticket but I think Disney also requires a form of payment with a Florida address).

Well shoot. There's no chance his mother - the only FL resident I know anymore - will be with us if/when we go.

Also, some FL resident tickets can only be used on certain days or during a certain time frame. If you don't have a set date to go, check the "fine print" on the ticket before you buy, if you decide to do so. You won't necessarily lose the value, but you could have to pay an upgrade.

I have a question as well.
My mom is a FL resident, my family is not. If we were to go to WDW with my mom, could she order all of the tickets and we all get the discount or just her?

All adults have to have proof of being a FL resident. She could do so IF there are younger children AND she goes with you to show her proof. So if your kids are younger, then she could buy them tickets but you adults would have to pay regular prices.

I don't believe so, at least not the adults. I think at one point, grandparents could buy for younger grandchildren, but I am not sure it's still allowed. My family is in Orlando and they cannot buy FL resident tickets for me.

You beat me to it! Thanks for confirming the grandchildren part.

One of those things that Disney always like promote since so many retired live in Florida and have grandkids visit. But the grandparent has to have tickets themselves and be going to the park when you are activating them.
