For any FL residents who haven't yet gotten their postcards in the mail, Disney has extended the season pass dates! The passes are good again starting on July 30th.

Whoopee!

Does anyone know why they did this? Is there less park traffic than usual this summer?

I didn't hear anything about this. Maybe its because some of FL 's schools are going back earlier this year. I live in Ft Lauderdale and school used to begin the last monday of the August. This year its being August 16. Where did you hear about the seasonal pass blackout date being cut short?

We got a postcard in the mail on Monday.

I wonder if it is for everyone, or just for central Floridians??

I bet you're right about the school issue, though.

Hey...got my card this Monday also, I am in the SW section of Fl...and talk about going back early this year... we go back on the 9th (as do most of the CF sections)

The FL resident Play 4 Pass is back out also, and I've read it's because attendance is down in the park so they released it again along with lifting the blackout dates on the seasonal passes to get attendance up again. :teeth:

Just as an FYI, we went this past weekend (July 31) and the park (MK) was glorious -- much less crowded than in May. I think a lot of people spend mornings in the water parks because of the hea, thinking that the post-3 pm sun is less brutal. We went from 9 to 3, and the parks did start to fill up at that time.

If anyone from Disney reads this, we LOVE having those extra weeks of our passes!!!
