FL Resident Rates?

I sure hope so! I orig had booked the PC and I paid for her room and our room as an Xmas gift to her with my disney visa..when I had them cancel that booking and rebook using the new rate at the POFQ she just transferred my payment to the new reservation. The reservation is in her name.

I just called and recieved a Florida Rate using code CCA I am a Seasonal Pass owner but never said anything about it just asked for the new Florida Resident Code. Have my reservations and the price is less than Visa rate standard view with tax $132.75 that makes the room rate about $119.00 a night for WL & AKL.

Posted this yesterday...after going back to Mousesavers they had added (Florida Residents with Disney Visa) called yep that is what they had booked...I said well I don't have a Disney Visa so give me back my old rate..(sniff,sniff) Glad I kept reading the DIS, because I would have been charged Rack Rate at check-in and may have missed the Florida code thinking I already had it.

You guys are great...so if anyone else made the reservations just using CCA you need to have a New Disney Visa with their information.

Just a note to everyone out there booking the FL Resident With Disney Visa offer (the only one currenlty out for FL residents).

Read another post the other day by someone who booked their new Disney Visa cardholder offer (the 7-for-4 deal)...she was given the rate even though she wasn't technically eligible for it (wasn't a *new* cardholder...had had it for awhile). Anyway...Disney and Bank One evidently verified each package booked to make sure the person was actually eligible for the promotion. She wasn't a new cardholder so they sent her a cancellation notice instead of a confirmation notice.

Just wanted to give you a heads up....may want to keep really good records of what you are promised and exactly who promised it to you! Would hate for anyone to lose their ressies this way!

Good luck to all in discount hunting!

Wow, that's the second one I've heard about being cancelled because they didn't meet the requirements.

Hmmm, so glad I'm a FL resident. I just wait for those room only codes to come out coz I can't go wrong with those. The only way I can be told no on the code is if there aren't anymore rooms or I get to the resort and don't have the FL ID....well the 2nd will never happen. I don't plan on leaving FL anytime soon.

When I called I asked specifically for FL Res rates. I even told the CM that I do not have a disney visa. She said I didn't need one and booked the rate. I called back the next day after finding out that FL res rates were NOT released. The Cm called guest services to okay the rate. I have names and everything, but still not too comfortalbe. I think when the REAL rates are released I will call back and swtich it.

Good plan! Called today to ask about the rates. Neither FL nor AP rates are out....only FL resident with Disney Visa . She said "yes, the rate is out" I asked, "are you sure? is it with Disney Visa or not? there seems to be some confusion"....she did a "wait a minute" thing....she said "there's a note in here regarding the rate"....after she read through it, she said it was a note reiterating that the FL resident rate out currently is only to be used with the Disney Visa and FL residents without the Disney Visa are not eligible .

I do hope they get this staightened out soon. And hope they do a better job of educating the CM's as to what rates are out there and who is eligible. I don't have the Disney Visa so didn't book, but I'd hate to see someone lose their reservation who didn't know to ask "are you sure?" or got a CM who didn't bother to read the eligibility requirements!

Be careful out there!
