Just looking for some advice and curious if any of you have ever had a similar problem and perhaps how it was resolved.
We have used our card prior to (and since) this time with no problems (at other restaurants), however, the "intern manager" and our waitress this night at Narcoosees had never heard of this program (this was on 4/9/03). We were denied our 20% discount, but were given a 10% DVC discount on our food only. Our bill was well over $100.00 that evening.
We called the DDE office when we arrived home. Eventually, the Area Manager of Naroosee's did call us and offered his apologies. In leiu of giving us a refund of the amount we were owed, he offered to extend some perks to us if we would visit them again (complimentary appetizer platter & 30% discount on our bill). We accepted. The only stipulation was to let him know when we were coming.
I contacted him this past Monday (voicemail as he is out on Sun/Mon) and told him we made reservations for Thurs 6/12). Asked him to contact me to confirm our original arrangement and to see what we needed to do upon arrival. I hadn't heard anything by Wed, so left him another message. This time I reminded him that we were leaving town on Sun and needed to confirm this no later than Sat AM (tomorrow). At this time, I still haven't heard anything from him. I also mentioned on my 2nd voicemail that if I didn't hear from him by Sat AM, I would be cancelling our PS and we would then need to get our refund from him.
What do you think? Should I go ahead and cancel or keep the PS in hopes that our arrangement will be honored? Is there anyone else that I should get involved? Just curious if anyone else has ever had problems using their card.
