I just read on Arthur Frommers site that from now til 9/30, Fl residents can purchase 4day hoppers for only 99. It can be purchased at AAA. We have a friend in St. Augustine who could buy them and send them to OH for us. Does anyone know if he purchases these pases for us and we use them will we have to show a FL ID? I dont think we would be asked at the gate with 50 people in line waiting for their tickets to be scanned. Any Fl residents have any info on this?

Sorry, that won't work. The person with Florida ID who buys the pass will have to do a finger scan at the time of purchase. When you go through the gate with the pass, the finger scan has to match.

Disney is doing everything possible to make sure only Florida residents buy and use this pass.

Hi Mary, I don't think that a finger scan is done at purchase, instead I believe that the first scan happens at first usage - then the biometrics are set. I'm pretty sure that's true because you can buy the pass at the Disney Store down here - and they don't have finger scanners :)

That said, expect to show id the first time you use the pass. Might not happen, but why risk it?

I don't live in Florida and I'm certainly no expert, but I thought these passes worked like the annual passes.

If you buy them at the parks, you receive the actual pass, show your FL ID and the finger scan is done at that time. If you buy them anywhere else, you receive a voucher that must be exchanged at one of the Guest Services locations. When you exchange, you provide the FL ID and do the finger scan.

FWIW, that is what I recall from reading other posts on this topic.

Exactly right Carol,

We bought our Play4 last year at the AAA office. We did get a voucher which we had to exchange at the TTC for tickets. Adults have to show their Driver's License or other proof of FL residency.

On a side note, this one CM asked my niece for ID, she's 12. Obviously, she does not have a DL so he asked her name and how to spell it. Held us up and everyone else behind us! That is the one and only time that any of our kids have been asked for ID.

We bought vouchures ahead of time. They must be exchanged for tickets AT the parks. FL ID MUST be shown then. Names are put on tickets. When you go through the turnstile, a finger scan is recorded. Had to do the scan each time. Children's names on theres and 10 yr old had to do the scan. No cheating!

We have our play4 days vouchers....we were able to purchase them through my office. How do we exchange them for our passes? Is there a special place at the parks?

At the ticket window at the entrance to any of the parks. We exchanged ours the day we arrived, the day before we needed them.

When they ran the special last year we purchased vouchers and then had to show our licenses at the guest services window at the park to get the actual tickets/passes (which your name is imprinted). After that we had to insert the ticket and do the finger scan at the entrance turnstile.

This time (a few weeks ago) we purchased the tickets (no voucher) at the guest relations window and didn't go in that night. We went in the next day. The finger scan is done only when you go to enter the turnstile (to go into a park) and you insert your ticket/pass into the top of the turnstile. The ticket/pass won't come out the other side til your finger scan is approved. Your name is imprinted on the ticket and you could be asked to show ID at anytime. FL residents (I believe) are the only ones' required to do the finger scan.

I don't know how someone else from another state can purchase the pass because you have to show your actual license at the time you purchase the ticket/pass (the name on the ticket and your license would have to match).

Any of the parks' "guest relations" will exchange the vouchers if you purchase them ahead of time for your tickets/passes. (the least wait we found was in the evening at EPCOT's International Gateway entrance).
