FL ID...can I do this?

CRO said we can do this...but maybe she didn't understand what I was saying. This is what we want to book: 3 separate rooms at Pop Century. 3 separate New Jersey families want to book the room under their own name with their own charge card. Grandma is NOT a florida resident, but has a FL id because she pays taxes there. CRO said that as long as Grandma is there to check everyone in, all 3 parties can enjoy the FL resident savings. What do you think? Did I hear this right? Sounds to good to be true.

Now how about park tickets...................

Thanks!!

Actually that is incorrect and the CM who told you probably just had a senior moment and was giving you the old rule information. Beginning with Disney's new fiscal year in October, FL resident and passholder offers require that there be a valid FL resident or passholder for each room booked, up to 3 rooms per party with the discount. If there is only one person with a FL state issued ID then only her room should be discounted. Now if Granny, Gramps and Great Aunt Althea are all FL residents with valid ID but staying in the same room and there were 3 rooms total linked together (exact same resort, room category and dates) the discount could be applied to all 3 rooms because technically your party has 3 FL residents each eligible for the discount. There is still some confusion about this change and many CMs who are used to the old rules have a hard time with remembering the change.

As far as park tickets, FL resident tickets are exclusively for the use of FL residents and each adult must show proof of residence to validate and use the tickets.

Want a discount you don't have to worry about, go AAA. CRO can tell you anything (how many times have any of us been given incorrect info from CRO) but when you check in, CMs will not allow it (i'm always asked for my ID). You can tell them CRO said it was ok but when it comes down to it, no one in your party is a Florida Resident though your Grandmother has a FL ID. Which means they can deny you the discount and they probably will.

I think Disney scans these boards and when we find loopholes and share them, they get closed.

Buses aren't a big deal since we have a car. I would like a view of some of the icons or the pool. And being close to the food court would be nice. We just came back from a trip in December from Pop. I didn't like the fact that while we were in a preferred room(very close to the food and store) our view was of the trees. It felt like the least Disney resort we've been too. Call me silly but I like looking at something that I can only see at Disney. Anyway I kept I just made everyone walk the long way to see all the cuite icons:lmao: .

Thanks for the information everyone.....I thought it sounded too good to be true. Will definately check out the AAA rates.
