FL discount or AAA discount? also FL resident rate question

so, my mom lives in florida and wants to take us to disney. she can get a resident discount or a AAA discount. which is better? and do all of us have to be FL residents to get the discount? thanks!

Sorry, but if your mom is a FL Res and you are not, she can't get you the FL Res rate tickets but she CAN book a resort room under her FL Res if it's available and she has FL ID and is checking in with you. She should check both AAA and WDW CRO(Central Reservations Office) and compare rates - when she calls WDW tell her she has to ask for FL Res rates when she gives them the dates to check (they might ask for her zip code to check rates, and she has to provide FL ID when checking in) You can also check on the WDW website and click on "Florida Residents" to price it out - it will ask for a FL zip code there also).

Right now, FL Res have these specials:

Florida Resident Room Only Discount
Florida Residents can get a "room only" discount at a Value, Moderate or Deluxe Resort. Depending on the dates selected, the Value Resorts start at $64 plus tax. Subject to availability on the following dates:

10/1/06 - 12/23/06, the booking code is FBW
01/01/07 - 2/14/07, the booking code is BRL
Proof of residency is required at check in.

You really need to check ALL the different packages, discounts, etc. besides the FL Res ones for your dates though, as there might be an even better deal for you just through the regular offers/specials. For example, does anyone have an AP (annual pass)? You might find a better deal for that. You should keep an eye out on the discount section of the DIS to keep up with all the discounts (click on http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-current.htm#ro ) or subscribe to mousesavers.com to get emails of deals as soon as they come out.

Here's the info on the FL Res tickets:
Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and can not be purchased for out of state family or friends.

Each adult in the party is required to have a Florida ID.

In order to take advantage of the Florida Resident Offers at Walt Disney World you must show proof of Florida Residency:

VALID Florida Drivers License

VALID Florida State issued ID card (MUST have Florida address)

VALID Voters Registration Card with corresponding picture ID

VALID Florida Based Military ID - Florida Military Bases

thanks. she will be staying in the hotel with us, but she wont go to the parks every day. so if she checks in with us at the hotel, and the FL rate is better than any other, we all get the same rate? we would be in one room or suite together. thanks!!!

Yep, the room would just be one price per night, and you can have up to 4 or 5 people per room (depending on resort, some allow 5, some don't) - and I think (but haven't checked lately) that she can reserve up to 3 rooms under the FL Res rate as long as she checks them in.

can you use AAA membership for discounts at DC or seaworld or universal??

do you need to show your card or just request the discount??
