FL AP activation question

We will be getting our FL AP when the opportunity opens this month. Does the 1 year start when you go through the turnstiles for the first time like in the past?
Ex: purchase ticket mid month, enter park for the first time early Dec. does my 1year start in Dec.
also, would paying monthly change anything.

With all the changes this is a concern for me too. I keep hearing folks say they are limiting the number of AP they are selling which is a concern. I'm looking at them for DS1 and myself in November but then adding DS2 in March. Wondering if I should just purchase his as well to avoid them not selling him one - with hopes it doesn't activate until March when he goes.
