Hey DIS, I am a pooh sized Potterhead and I have never been in WWOHP, and I'm getting pretty scared over my size (but I have another thread for that). Now, I have been looking as FJ ride photos of tests seats AND that little snapshot where the Acromantulas are, but, I can't find any of people with a larger size riding it! My best way of calming down is to actually see someone roughly my size riding it, so please, if you are willing to share your ride photos so you can reassure anyone (not just me) that there's still a chance of us getting on that AMAZING ride.

I've posted it before. but here's my ride photo.54838476.jpg

At that time, between my height and side I was just barely able to ride. If fact I got pulled off twice that trip because I didn't quite get set in time. The 2nd time getting pulled off a very nice TM spent some time with me at the test seat devising a strategy to get secured quicker. Because of both tall and big I needed to first sit back in the seat and pull the restraint down on my own. Then, shift down slightly to get extra room a little extra room at the shoulder area.1222333_54875034.jpg

Here's a second picture of me to help judge size without restraints. I am 6'4" and had about a 44" waist.

So it was mostly the shoulder area that was the problem?

For me, it was shoulders that caused the problem first. But it was close around the waist as well. So that's why for me it was such a balancing act. If I sat up too straight I had trouble in the shoulders. If I "slouched" too much I had trouble in the waist. That's why I needed the 2 step system to get in the restraint quickly.

It's tough to see in the ride photo but where the restraints flare out by the head there is also a slight bend that starts the restraints moving toward the seats. Then, the big corner in the restraint so it can attach to the seat. So, the taller you are in the torso the less room you have front to back in the shoulder area.

My husband is 6 foot tall and has broad shoulders.....he does find he has to scootch down a bit on the ride for the restraints.........

:offtopic: But I have to say Johde......every time I see the pic of your FJ ride......the faces on the other 3 folk always makes me laugh.......priceless faces and you look so laid back!!

As mac says, yes there is a slight slant to the seat......not uncomfortable though.

I don't care for rides like FJ, they make me feel woozy. But I wanted to say that even if you can't ride the line is worth seeing. I plan on waiting in line again just for the line. Ha! They have put in so much detail and special effects similar to those on Gringott's. It's great!
