Fizzy water at MDR?

I would think just regular soda water would be included same as soda. Something like Perrier or San Pelligrino (if even available) would almost 100% cost extra.

My over answer of the day:

sparkling rather than still? What exactly do you want?????

IME in EU, 'tap' water is not routinely provided as is the custom in the US. At a buffet there may be bottles of water with the other drinks and at a sit down rest' one orders water specifically and then specifies sparkling or still. In EU the cap color of bottled water identifies ...

again IME sparkling water in EU is 'pure water' with light carbonation - ideally natural carbonation but alas not the common thing anymore.

In the US, to get the same thing can be a bit tricky.

SODA WATER vs CLUB SODA vs SELTZER

Seltzer Water
  • Ingredient: Plain water
  • Carbonation: Added carbon dioxide
  • Flavor: Very clean tasting, although this is the most common variety of carbonated water to be "flavored" with other ingredients like citrus
  • Uses: Everyday drinking; cocktails; can be used interchangeably with club soda
Club Soda
  • Ingredients: Plain water and mineral-like ingredients like sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate, potassium sulfate, and disodium phosphate
  • Carbonation: Added carbon dioxide
  • Flavor: Slightly more mineral-y tasting than seltzer water, but still a relatively clean taste
  • Uses: Everyday drinking; cocktails; can be used interchangeably with seltzer water
Sparkling Mineral Water
  • Ingredients: Natural spring or well water, sometimes bottled at the source, which contains minerals like salts and sulfur compounds
  • Carbonation: Naturally-occurring carbonation due to gases or carbonated by adding carbon dioxide
  • Flavor: Due to the the minerals and sodium, sparkling mineral water has a heavier mouthfeel and distinct taste that can vary depending on where the water came from
  • Uses: Everyday drinking; not recommended for use in cocktails since it has a distinct flavor and is the most expensive of the carbonated waters

SYFO is a popular brand of SELTZER in the US and may be found flavored
CLUB SODA is sold by many bottlers
Sparkling Mineral Water .... Perrier and similar

If you ask for sparkling water on Disney you are probably gonna get carbonated water from the soda gun at the bar/drink station unless you ask for a sparkling bottled water (at cost). Should soda gun cost more or be included????? Hmmmmm

We got a large bottle of San Pelligrino at our table each night. Yes, it is an extra charge. I want to say around $3.75 per bottle? (Ish?) Plus gratuity of course. Very reasonable!

Thanks, I didn't know what to call it, but yes just soda water from the coke machine without any syrup.

I think you really have to be specific. There was a huge thread about this once. I am sure once your assistant server knows what you are asking for, from then on, it won't be an issue.

Thanks. I want to be both caffeine free and sugar free at dinner but get bored with tap water. I'm bringing on mio type flavor bottles and at home usually use them with a soda stream.

I'm a diet coke fanatic during the day, but after 5ish, I only drink water with lemon. The first night I ask for a small dish of lemon slices for our family (sometimes our kids get soda); my husband and I prefer just water with dinner. Each night we have lemons waiting on the table for us! (if we have a good assistant server, that is....)

I don't like diet coke in the evening at dinner in the MDR. My go to dinner beverage is their fresh brewed iced tea. I find it gets weak at times and then good again...I guess when they make an new batch.

I am still trying to figure out if their regular water in the MDR has sodium in it or is it the sodium in the food but after 2 days onboard my ankles ALWAYS swell. Two days at home and they are back to normal.

Just ask for "soda water from the machine" and you shouldn't have a problem :) I order it every night during dinner with a splash of pineapple and have never been charged. Only one cruise where the server was confused but as soon as I clarified I wanted the one from the machine not bottle he understood.
