I am such an idiot! I've never made iced tea before, but it was really hot yesterday, so I thought I give it a shot.
Of course I prepared myself by looking up how to's on line etc, and nothing warned me about the concequences of pour hot tea into a room temperature glass pitcher! I knew about going from really cold to really hot, and vice versa, but I didn't think about just pulling it from the cabinet.
Almost immediately after pouring the hot tea (about 190 degrees), I heard a loud snap and a large u-shaped crack appeard around the handle
I can't tell if water is seeping through the crack or not, but if I scrape my nail across it (both on the inside and outside), I can feel it.
I love this pitcher so much (link below), is there anyway to fix it?
Also, how do you prevent this from happening? Do you fill up the container with really warm/hot water from the tap first? Or do you use another container all together?
