Fixed Week PVB Question

Was just told by Guide that my Aug UY will NOT receive the 2014 points, if I purchase a December Fixed Week. Just sent him an email (we spoke by phone) to reiterate that. Since the FW wouldn't be able to start until the 2016 calendar year (based on understanding of FW in another timeshare I own: must provide 12 month window to verify desire to use the FW), don't see how this would be anything other than point purchase w guarantee of week in the future, which would mean I am still in my 2014 UY when resort opens.

Anyone hear the same thing from their guide?

Guide discovered that I would be receiving the 2014 UY points. Very happy with Disney Quality Assurance!

That sounds right. I don't think they can offer points that didn't exist. Although you may be in your 2014 UY, the resort didn't exist in Aug 2014 for those points to exist.

After reading another thread, my brain was operating backwards.

It would be any UY prior to being able to stay at the resort. So a Feb or Mar UY won't get 2014 points. (I need to think things thru before i open keyboard and insert foot)

Glad to read it all worked out.
It makes sense for the 2014 points to be treated as standard points and 2015 points to be treated as FW.
