So if I'm 6 foot and 180lbs I should expect to be a bit uncomfortable?
This thread would be quite confusing if somebody was looking for information. An individual 5 ft 2 inches 80 pounds was uncomfortable because the seat was too small but an individual 6' 6" inches 300 lbs was comfortable and the seating was not too small.![]()
6'6 and 300 is border line skinny!!!!
Leg room length wasn't the problem. It was the width between the bars on the outside of your legs.
Just curious (we're going Wednesday), but would fitting have anything to do with where in the train you are? Or is there a way to tell the different trains apart? Since it's such a huge difference with everyone's sizes and who fits, who doesn't, who's comfortable, and who's not, I just wonder if there are certain sections that are made differently than others, or if one or two of the trains run bigger than the other. Carry on...
This ! I think larger people (such as myself) are somewhat used to dealing with a certain degree of discomfort. So to me, even though I was a bit squished on 7DMT, I didn't really feel like I was super uncomfortable or really even close to not be able to ride. However, I can totally see how a very slim person who is used to slipping on and off of rides with ease, may perceive the seats as small and uncomfortable! It also seems to me as though some (not all) of the people who said they couldn't ride, made the decision not ride based on comfort or by looking at the seat and choosing not to. Also understandable, because the seat is small, but when I settled in, it was fine! I think in general this is issue is slightly overblown... The vast, vast majority of people can and have been able to ride.I think it all boils down to what you think is uncomfortable. The seats are kind of molded so they raise up at the sides, similar to seats on the Disney buses but a more severe curve. So, while you might be able to fit, if you have a wide backside, you are going to feel those ridges on your butt. Uncomfortable? Yes. Unbearable? No. It's what? 2 minutes? I'm 6 ft. Hubby is 6 ft 5. We both fit just fine, though cheek-to-cheek. It's kind of similar to how much room you would have on a Disney bus in those certain spots for two, width-wise anyway.
