Fitness room?

Okay. Yeah. I’ve seen the space you’re referring to on Fantasy gym videos. I can give it a shot. If I don’t like it I’ll go find me a spot off to the side on deck 4 or something. I’m not as worried the first 7 days because my hubby gets up early anyway. The second 7 days I will be with a friend/roommate and I would feel awful if I woke her up.

Have you done the boot camp class? I’d like to find someon who has so I can hear how it was. I’ve never done a boot camp class before. I have considered also getting a trainer like the 1st of my 14 days to go through and work me up a little routine on the machines & make sure I’ve got the correct form. Then I can just just replicate for the remaining days. But, that kinda defeats what I love most about the current program I’m doing with the HIIT workouts. Every day it’s something different. No muscle memory!

We were just on the Fantasy in March and, even at a quiet time, the small space in front of the weights was being used by people stretching, using free weights, etc. It's a small space, but you may be able to utilize it. The space on the Magic is much more conducive to "boot camp" type classes. I did the boot camp one day on the Fantasy and they took us out to the basketball court. It was really hot and I didn't go back. Do you have a trainer at home? My trainer gives me vacation workouts now that I can do with just cardio and body weight exercises or just a few free weights. If you utilize a trainer on the Fantasy, just be prepared for some upselling.

I’m a member of Delta Life Fitness at home. We do different HIIT workouts in classes. My coaches are getting me all the info I need to put together my workouts for travel. I have several different interval structures that I can plug my choice of exercises into to create different workouts each time. I have a set of mini-bands that I plan to bring. I can easily skip using hand weights, kettle bells, slam balls, TRX straps, ropes, etc. like we frequently use in the gym.

Ugh, think I’ll skip the boot camp if it’s on the sports court. If they did it before the sun was up that would be one thing but in the full sun? Nope. I’m a fluorescent ginger. I avoid the sun. LOL!

I’ll go see about using the little spot in the gym but I have a feeling I’ll be off to the side on deck 4 in the shade somewhere. Unless my oversized verandah is out of the sun. Then that’s a good option.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

I’m not sure what all you need to do your workouts but as far as a spot to do them....why not try the outlook on deck 14?

That program sounds awesome! I think you will have better luck on deck 4. It's spacious, shady and very quiet. Except for the cardio equipment by the windows (with the stunning views!), the fitness center felt a bit claustrophobic to me.

THAT is a crazy awesome idea! All I have to have is me & my iPad with my Tabata timer. Well, and a towel & water. ;) I can also bring my resistance bands from home.

One of the things I dislike about the onboard gyms is how small, tight they feel. I love the program a lot. I do. Lost 42 lbs since Feb. 24th. ;)

If I was doing HIIT and AMRAP workouts, I would croak if I didn't have cool air surrounding me! :scared: :joker:

I joined at the end of February. This is the first summer they have been in this new gym building. Prior to the move they were in a open warehouse. No a/c. I’ve told the coaches several time since I’m glad they had moved before I showed up. If I had come and there was no a/c there’s no way I would’ve stayed. :crazy2: Even in the a/c when I’m working sweat pours off of me. But, I guess if I used to run in the early morning heat & humidity I can survive working out in it. Maybe. :scared: The suggestion to go up to Outlook is solid! I’ll try that! Great space. Great views.

It’s an awesome idea and I’m pretty sure no one gets married at 7am so you should have the entire room to yourself. :flower1:

I actually found the outlook just exploring one day. I had no idea it was even there but it’s a great view with plenty of room for you to move around for your workout and of course you’ll be out of the sun.

Yep. I’ve attended a private reception in Outlook. Wandered in a few times just to see it over the years. I know they do Friends of Bill W meetings there in the mornings. I’ll just wa5ch for those times & work around, hopefully at 6:30 or so.

Yeah. They do "yoga" out there - it was merely stretching the one time I went even though they called it yoga. None of us there were amused.

But they have an indoor area where they so spin and other classes I think.

Well that's disappointing about the yoga class ... I was planning to try one of those. I'll probably still do it but just adjust my expectations. That's awesome that they have it 6:30am though! I can fit that in before the kids are even up (hopefully).

I totally had to google who Bill W was.

It may depend on who is leading it. This was in 2015, so odds are the staff has changed since then.

The Outlook is a great spot, and very underutilized. Perfect idea. I think they do do some toddler stuff up there sometimes, but it will be closed off at those times. Most of the time it is empty and waiting for you!

My trainer did this for me a few years ago. I still have the plans and they can be easily accommodated with whatever is available even including just body weight if I select the right ones. Makes it really conducive to working out in a hotel or cruise ship gym when you don't know what's possible or available. I've used it a few times on the Magic and was able to get several good workouts with what was there. I will admit to not doing it on the Fantasy but that had more to do with cruising with friends and deciding to be lazy than the gym layout even though I don't like the gym on the Fantasy as much. I could easily have done the same thing and my trainer totally did not believe my story about the gym not being good enough.

I'm preparing for my first Disney Cruise, and I was wondering what the locker rooms are like. Is there a place to hang up a small drawstring bag? I'm assuming they provide towels?
