We are checking in to a 1-bedroom Boardwalk villa on Saturday. We are also spending 2 night at the end of the week at the Poly Bungalow. Does anyone know if the fitness centers at the DVC resorts are open, and if so, are there any COVID precautions? (limited times, appointments, face masks, etc). Thanks!!

From the Disney World website:
Fitness Centers & Sports Courts
  • Fitness centers are open in alignment with state and county regulations, and may have reduced hours
  • Fitness centers may have reduced hours and capacity
  • Instructor-led fitness classes are not available
  • Fitness and sports courts are open, and Guests must maintain physical distancing
Masks are required everywhere at WDW except while eating/drinking or at the pool. Based on those requirements, you would have to wear a mask in the fitness center unless actively eating or drinking.

Does anyone know if mask are required while running on the running trails at Disney? IE the path around the lake at Boardwalk etc? Just trying to plan out any exercising I will be doing there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the path around the lake at the Boadwalk isn't a "running trail." People walk around it all the time to get from one hotel to another, or from Epcot to the Boardwalk. So if a person is running and breathing heavily on that path, they are going right by people who are walking.

Also (and again correct me if I'm wrong) my understanding is that currently there is fencing which prevents you from going all the way around the path. It's part of the NBA "bubble" to keep the general public away from the basketball players staying at the Yacht Club.

It may be closed off with the bubble, did not really think about that. And true it is not a dedicated running trail, but it is set up for running as they have the New Balance running trail markers and mileage on it. It's honestly not a big deal and I am not one of the "no mask is my right" type of people. I was just wondering if running was going to be possible while I was there. I could run with a mask on, but not too sure how well that would really go.

While I fully understand that masks are required in all public areas unless swimming or dining, I saw on a YouTube video for the OKW reopening (taken with a grain of salt, of course) that some guests were told by a CM that masks were not required while exercising (and physical distancing). That would be in line with the Orange County mandate, and on the WDW website, they state that fitness centers are open in accordance with state and county regulations, and that sports courts are open and guests must maintain physical distancing. I'll be at OKW and VB the first week of August and can report back.
