Fishing

Nice fish, your son has a lot more patience than I do. That's a lot of "awful".

Pretty swimmer :thumbsup2.
Thats some real nice shore cover he's standing in too, altho I don't have patience with cover like that after the first time I get hung up.

Okay, I have a stupid question. I have never been fishing--my parents thought it was a supreme waste of time so I have never really had that drive to catch a fish. But I love to go camping and I think fishing would fit that nicely. I have no problem with sitting on the side of the lake casting my rod or even baiting the hook(I've. But how in the heck do you get them off the hook without hurting yourself?

I started off wearing a glove and using needle nose pliers to get the hooks out.

Let's see. I started fishing at 9, now I am 71. If my math is right, that would be 62 years of frustration.

Sorry back on topic. Taking the hook out ??? Looking at the scars on these hands a Pro like born2fish (Frank) may help you.

I close my eyes then get finned, spiked, bit. You name it.----Fish are terrorist in disguise. I'm glad that I have not caught that many in my life.

Acually the pain is bearable in the 3 week healing process. Taking a hook out of your ear, finger, arm etc. is another chapter. Been there

PS: Just kiddin'----and make sure you take a youngin' fishin with you. I was hooked at 9 years of age. That is, hooked on fishin' for life.

Frank has been hooked 3 times. 2 times he hooked himself. Once in the leg ( never pull straight towards you when caught in a tree) :lmao: The second time he was casting and pierced his own ear ( perfectly I might add). :lmao: The third time he and DS were fishing in a 12 foot jon boat DS put a treble hook in Frank's skull. This one was surgically removed at the ER with a shoestring. The others were removed on the spot to continue fishing.

:cool1:

In my other life when I was young. Young being how much or how little hair you have. I got a size #20 or #22 trout fly in my scalp.

You can see a picture of this fly in a posting 'born2fish (Frank) will understand'.

I had hair then. sooooo I was young, Shirley was through the drill of removal before. Push the hook through, cut off barb and remove. Easy enough, but when it's tiny, "John I can't see it" DW Shirley just follow the leader. "I still can't see it, let me give the leader a slight tug" NOOO ! ! OW THAT HURT ! !.

After 1/2 hour of torture. DW STOP !. I am going to see one of my fisher buddies.

You got to be friggin' kiddin' my good Bud said---Go to the E.R.

E.R Butcher, er sorry, Doctor--"The fish that eat that, gotta be tiny". Hurt head, hurt feelings, all in all, a day that really sucked.
