Anyone take the fishing trip excursion in Castaway Cay?

I signed up for it early because I hear it is very popular but would like some feedback from someone who has gone or knows of anyone who has been on it.

It is a pretty expensive trip so if anybody can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Going on the Easter Cruise on April 19 and would need to cancel within the next week if it is not worth it.

Thanks!!!!

I have NOT gone, but I asked this questions a couple months ago and got quite good feedback, including pictures of some nice fish.

one caveat is you don't get to bring your fish back on the DCL ship since there is no cooking facilities.

Based on the feedback igot, I'm going.

Let me know how you do.

Thanks for the info.....

I will defintely let you know how the fishing trip is.

Can you forward me to the board where you discussed the fishing trip??

WHat kind of fish do they catch and how big??

Doe severybody get to fish at the same time or do you take turns?

My brother-in-law and nephew went on the fishing trip last Sept. and had a great time. I will contact my sis and ask her to respond to your questions. Wet a hook!:D Twinave

As TwinAve said my DH and DS went on this trip and had a wonderful time. It is just 6 people and everyone fishes at the same time. They caught a number of different types of fish. It is catch and release for the paying guests, but the Capt. did keep a few of the nicer fish for his own dinner!
When I asked my DS and DH if they wanted to do this again, on our upcoming cruise they said YES!!!!!
If you wish to do this SIGN UP EARLY! I tried to book this 3 times and was only able to book it once. I booked it 60 days out by calling DCL.

My DH did this on our January trip and really enjoyed it. They hooked 2 sharks. One was so big he broke off, the other one they let everyone on board have a turn reeling in. He said that they caught some other fish as well. We weren't able to get our son on the boat, since they were booked. DH said that he would have probably been a bit bored because there was some down time.

For an adult though, the fun of catching big fish made up for the somewhat slow times.
