fishing question at FW

Leaving in 4 days for our 1st trip to FW, will be staying in a cabin. My husband & DS7 & 8 love fishing. What kind of poles can you rent & what kind of Fish are stocked in the lake? Is there a pretty good chance that everyone will catch Fish? Thanks for any replies. Gigi

There are bass in the lake. While I have seen several people fish in the canals, I have never actually seen anyone catch anything there. Fishing at FW is strictly catch and release. I have heard that, due to this policy, there are some pretty decent lunkers caught out on some of the fishing excursions you can take.

My husband Lives to fish, and in our free time last week, he spent a lot of time fishing the canals and caught several nice fish. We wer in a pet loop that backed up to a canal that led to others, so he just wandered and fished. We took our own fishing gear though. he even walked just off property to some of the ponds on the road and fished, with some success.
