I booked this for my husband, DFIL and DD7. All really had a great time with this. My husband had told me before that he would never pay that much to go fishing but when I surpised him with the trip he was like a little boy with a new present

My DFIL can be kind of difficult to please and he said he had a great time. He told me that the only bad thing about the trip was that they had to go :guilty:

Any questions let me know!

Which fishing excursion did you book? From where did they leave? How long were they out? Was it just fishing, or were there drinks and snacks? Was the CM really helpful and knew just the spot to catch a lot, or did he just drive?

THanks for posting this....I really want to know ALL about it, but I can't think of any more questions to ask!

We stayed at the POR so I booked the one that leaves from the marina there. I booked the 7am-9am one. That one is the most expensive because of the early time and fishing is usually best in the early am. At least that is what is told to me when my husband leaves at 5am for his fishing trips!

My husband said that there were lots of drinks, all sorts. The guide does guide you and helps you pick out the bait and you can throw it in or he will do it. The guide does what ever you need him to do with the fishing/bait.

Like I said before, these avid fisherman/kid really enjoyed themselves.

I forgot to add on my original post that while my husband was pulling in a fish, he leaned over the boat and his sunglasses slipped of off his hat and right into the water. It was very overcast the morning they went so he did not have them on. He told me to pass on to folks to make sure to have a strap for your sunglasses. I figured he should have already know that himself :teeth: but I thought I would pass it on :earboy2:

Did they catch a lot of fish? I have been thinking about doing this for my DS and DH. Usually when they go fishing they don't catch much. My son would be so thrilled to catch a few fish even though it is catch and release.

YES, they caught lots of fish. My DD7 caught the first fish. It was a catfish and my DH said she was so excited :Pinkbounc . My husband and DFIL each said it was really fun, fun because they caught lots of fish. It is a catch and release program. But everyone still had fun and we will book this one again when we go back.

Can I ask how much and did you call at 90 days out to book it? And how many people can go? Thanks!!!!!

Here's a link to Deb's page with all the info. Yes, it is very expensive, but it is a lot of fun. We did one from the Wilderness Lodge and one from the Boardwalk (this one is great since you go into World Showcase on the two earlier ones)

budbeerlady-Sorry I took so long getting back to you :flower: It cost 225.00 up to 5 people and I booked 90 days out with a choice of places and times. The cm told me the early ones go the fastest. My husband thought that it was a pretty good deal for 5 people to be guided for fishing. If you have any more questions let me know. My hubby just told me that they all caught about 10 fish in the 2 hr time frame and they were pretty big fish. They caught bass, catfish and one mudfish. The biggest was about 7-8lbs.

glad to here your family enjoyed it. My DB and I will be fshing bay lake in july we are very excited. :sunny:

Thanks for the info! We will have to try this out, I like the idea of being able to see the world showcase also. Thanks!

We've done a fishing excursion for the past 5 or 6 years. The boat picks us up from the GF (they'll pick you up at any of the hotels there).

Each time we've had a different guide and each and every one of them has been excellent. And despite the fact that we go out in the VERY HOT afternoon, we always catch lots of fish (we joke that there's a scuba diver under the boat putting them on for us)...

it's definitely worth the money. My husband and I never fish, we just watch the kids. But we could if we wanted to. There are enough rods and bait for all of us. But we just like to sit back and relax, and watch the kids reeling em in.

By the way, it's catch and release. You have to throw them back.
