Fishing on Castaway Cay?

My husband would like to bring his fly rod and fish while we're on Castaway Cay. We've emailed Disney twice over the past 4 months but still no answer. Anyone know if fishing is allowed there?

You can book a fishing excursion on Castaway Cay but it is on a boat out in the ocean - you can not fish from any of the beaches or piers - not sure if you can bring your own equipment.

I may have an unhappy cruiser in my party. DF was planning on bringing his rod also to cast a few at CC. I don't want to be the one to tell him it's a no-no. The excursion at CC is bottom fishing, minimum 5 people, 4ish hours and $130.00ish to do so. Yikes. Thanks for the info the round about way.

DH and DS did the bottom fishing trip at CC and LOVED it. You do not have to have 5 people, but that is the max. on the boat. The cost is 110.00 per person. If you or anyone else is interested in this trip I would highly recommend you pre-booking it. This was our 3rd attempt to get it and we were finally able to due to the pre-booking option.
If anyone has any questions I would be happy to try to answer them .

The DH in the party we were traveling with is an avid fisherman. Lives to fish, goes out on the boat every weekend, etc.

Anyway, he went on the Castaway Cay fishing trip and LOVED it! He couldn't stop talking about the fabulous time he had. He also thought that it was very inexpensive compared to what you would pay for a fishing charter ordinarily around here. (FL).
