Hi I need some idea's on what resort to start our fishing trip from. Going in April with our 9yo GD. After reading some post world showcase lagoon sounds nice, but catching more fish might be at seven seas lagoon / bay lake area. Thanks for any and all info.

My husband will be going on one of these on our upcoming trip. The group is being picked up at the POR marina and they will fish in the DTD area. I will be posting a report when they are done.

We have done both the Bay Lake and Crescent Lake excursions. I love the Crescent Lake location because I think it is cool to go into World Showcase, plus we usually stay at one of the Epcot resorts so it is very convenient, especially since we usually go on the 7am excursion. My husband, however, prefers Bay Lake as he has caught more fish there. I don't catch much anywhere :rotfl2:. We are going on our December trip (haven't decided which location yet) so I will give a review when we get back. We enjoy these excursions a great deal, but they sure aren't cheap (but then what is at WDW).

Last Wed., I was driving on the "gold" route, and a family on an excursion caught 6 good size bass while tied to the GF dock--before I could make a complete lap around 7 seas. While I was at GF, I saw them catch 2 more, with both being over 4lbs. When the water is cool, as it is in April, they catch a ton in 7 seas.

We have done 3 fishing excursions at WDW 2 on Crescent Lake and 1 on Bay Lake both were great. Both spots are good. Fishing in the World Showcase is truly unique but Bay Lake is also nice. We have had good luck each time with catching fish. The guides work very hard at doing their best to make sure each person catches fish. We were just there in October and between 5 people we caught about 30 fish and a few of those being 4-5 lb bass. The kids have a blast. Our guide for our last two trips on Crescent Lake was Enrique he goes by Rick he was wonderful. The trips are costly but they are great fun.

We have done many guided fishing excursions over the years. All of them have been fun. I have a few photos of some of them in an on-line album: click here.

We have arranged to be picked up at the following resorts: Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club, and BoardWalk. We normally arrange for pickup based primarily upon where we are staying at the time. However, we have varied our pickup location based upon where we want to fish that day (I hope that makes sense).

I don't fish since I am allergic to seafood, but I still tag along for the ride. I find it very peaceful to be on the water while most other vacationers are still enjoying their sleep. I also love it when we catch a glimpse of the hot air balloons floating in the distance (we've seen them frequently).

My husband's favorite fishing locations are as follows (in order): Bay Lake, Seven Seas Lagoon, Crescent Lake, and World Showcase Lagoon. My son's favorite fishing locations are, well, anywhere. He's a natural born angler and it drives my husband crazy. ;)

No matter where you fish, I hope your family has a wonderful time.

Thanks for all the info and help. Those going soon enjoy WDW, and ill be watching for those reports.

Can anyone tell me the cost for 3 adults fishing Bay Lake?

Thanks

We're going to be doing this on our May trip - my DS is so excited to actually catch fish! He went fishing with Grandpa this past weekend for the first time and didn't catch a thing, lol.

Last April my DH and DS (age 12) did the fishing trip and caught the boat out of the Poly - they loved it - my son caught about 9 fish - my husband said the captain was wonderful - it was just the three of them on the boat - he said he would do it again in a heart beat!! (And he is not a Disney nut like me - yes it is sad but true)
