I was wondering if anyone has experienced the bass fishing charter? My husband loves to fish and I was considering doing this while we were there. His birthday is the day we leave. Thanks!

DS and I went in 2002, caught 21 nice sized Bass in 2 hours. We had a great time. I say go for it. :fish:

I've heard of this but do you know how much it costs? I think my DH would love this but we're only going for 4 nights so I'm not sure we would have time. We're going again in October for 6 nights before our Wonder cruise so maybe he could do it then.

my fiance, our dads, groomsman & bestman are doing the fishing excursion on bay lake during our wdw wedding week. its $255 for the five of them for 3 hours including guide, gear, etc. prices vary depending on time (ie 7am vs. 1pm) & venue (ie downtown disney vs. bay lake)

It's around $200.00 + tip. As far as the time, we did the 7AM trip so we were back at the dock by 9:15. We still had a full day for the parks. :cool1:

We did the Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon one, second time slot. It was like $200 plus for tip and bait too. They also have coffee and soft drinks aboard. It was the 3 ds, dh and myself. The guide will even bait for you if you want. I caught the most fish. It was really fun. If you are going during the summer, I would take the early trip. It gets really hot out there!! We got picked up from the Polynesian dock. We went all the way out by the old discovery island.

A friend of mine from work did the Bay Lake fishing excursion on their December WDW trip. They enjoyed it so much, that have have another one booked for their trip next month. My friend said that it was a great way to see all the Bay Lake resorts. After a few busy days in the park, it was very peaceful and relaxing.

Back in 2000, leaving from the Boardwalk was $160/2 hrs. We did the 7am one and got to go into the middle of World Showcase lagoon. We were in Dec, didn't catch much fish, but we had a great time. We'll definitely do this again once the kids are older.

Thanks for all the great info, I think we will check it out probably our last day if we can get the reservations. Do you know if the reservations are hard to get?

I've always wondered about this too. I've heard about it, and I've seen the people fishing, but never knew the price.
My retirement plan is to go down there and run one of those fishing excursions. So, I better give it a try next trip. pirate:

What a great job that would be huh?
I did this last December. A real treat for a guy who lives in MA. My father and I did this and had a great time.

About 6 or so years ago, my youngest went on a special fishing charter just for kids. It ended up her and two boys with her catching more fish. I am not sure if Disney still does this but she really enjoyed the charter.

i am new to this, so i hope i am not breaking any rules by asking a follow up question....does anyone know if you can use your own fishing gear? or do you have to use theirs?
