DH is wanting to take DS13 out on a fishing excursion while at HH. Is it ever offered through the resort? Someone out of the Shelter Cove Marina? Or somewhere else? Neither of them are fishermen - but DS is really wanting to do something like this.

Yes, there are fishing excursions offered daily by the resort. Both deep-sea and local options are available. The local trip is by Low Country Tours who also provides the Dolphin watch tours for the resort and you can board the boat at the marina in front of Building 28.

There are also other fishing options at Shelter Cove - Gullah Gal, Kat Mandoo have similar trips to the one offered by the resort ($400-500 for up to 6) and Capt. Hook is less costly but is on a much larger boat.

There is also a family crabbing trip offered by the "Crabber J II" - about $25 per person.

We've gone with the resort trip for a number of years now and have never been disappointed. We've caught several varieties of shark, mackeral, Jaques, sting rays, cobia and redfish. We typically fish right on Calibogue sound where the marsh meets the intracoastal waterway.

Thanks Doc! Any idea of the cost of the resort-arranged tour with Low Country Tours? If my DH & DS are not seasoned fishermen - would this still be suitable for them?
