fishing at HH

We're heading down to HH mid October, anyone know of any charters or head boats in the area. Would prefer a charter that offers sharing. I'm the only one fishing and a charter for one is a little expensive. Would also be interested in a head boat for either bay or ocean drift fishing. Plan on doing some surf fishing as well so if any one has a good beach already tested that would save me from checking the whole caost. Oct. is great for surf fishing up north but I guess the water is still pretty warm in S.C. Thanks for any tips...

I don't fish myself, but have a good friend at work that does a lot of offshore fishing in the Carolinas and Virginia. I'll get his take on it and report back to you on Monday.

They seem to have a reasonable amount of good info concerning all that is Hilton Head Island.

I would also call Disney HH directly. They have relationship with some vendors. We took a Dolphin cruise and a Beach comber. We meet someone that was going fishing for sharks. Just ask for the recreational activity person.

The resort offers fishing excursions thru Low Country Tours. These are for up to 6 (I think) and they basically go out into the sound. We have done this the past 3 years catching Redfish, Jacque, Mackeral and lots of sharks and rays.

As Plutofan already suggested, the resort may be able to include you in with others in a group , but I'd check at arrival as they don't get a lot of advance reservations.

There are also large group charters available, but those go out into the Atlantic and always seem to be pretty crowded as they leave the harbour. The resort staff can advise about all options. I'm sure they can find something suitable for you.

My husband was interested in fly fishing and went with a guide out of Savannah. He liked the guide and the experience. Let me know if you are interested in that. Our guide for the Dolphin tour we arranged right at the Disney activity office (by the pool) did alot of guiding for shark fishing. You might check with them.
