Fishing at BCV?

we're staying at BCV in June. I was wondering if fishing is allowed in the lake that is surrounded by Y&BC, BCV, & the boardwalk? anyone know for sure? TIA

I know you can rent boats at the Yacht Club, but I have never seen anyone fishing.

There are fising excursions available from bayside marina. Some info I gathered:

Fishing
-- There are several different types of fishing excursions departing from the Bayside Marina. Guided Bass Fish Excursion is $169.81 for a two-hour trip, 5 guests maximum. The Kid Fishing Around the World trip costs $23.80 per child for a one-hour trip. Children 6-12 are eligible.

-- located just outside Disney's Yacht Club Resort, the marina is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Call 407-WDW-PLAY for more information or to make reservations.

We have fished a few times on Crescent Lake with Disney's guided fishing excursions. They were always a lot of fun (and I don't fish, I just tag along for the ride since I am allergic to seafood).

I have only a few photos posted of some of our WDW fishing excursions (click here). We have fished on Bay Lake, Seven Seas Lagoon, Crescent Lake, and even inside Epcot.

My DH always brings a fishing pole when we stay at the Dolphin. He goes out early.6:30am, before the hotel "wakes up"and fishes from shore right near the hotel. One morning a Dolphin employee came out to chat with him and never said he couldn't fish there. On our most recent trip (Christmas '03) he went over on the Swan side and was told by an employee that they did not allow fishing there. I have also seen people fishing along the canal that goes to MGM Studios on the Swan side not the Boardwalk side. The body of water near the BC is connected to but not the same as Dolphin. I have never seen anyone fishing there. I think I read somewhere they rent poles at the Boardwalk which is opposite the BC on the same lake.

The boat for the Fishing Excursion from the YC sits only a few feet off shore, you will not be fishing in the middle of a big lake. My DH could easily cast and hit the boat!

By the way, there a some huge bass and I would never advise keeping them.. Catch and release.

If you go fishing at the BCV, you might catch something you'd rather not. Like the Villagator.

If you really want to go fishing, you probably would be better off with guide.
