Is it possible to shoot Wishes and have it turn out well? I imagine you'd have to be pretty close to the castle for it to work. Do you catch enough bursts from that angle?

Any tips or examples would be greatly appreciated!

If you're near the castle, it might work for things like the spread of shells fired on each side of the castle, but remember that most of the fireworks are set off from well behind Fantasyland. I fear those will likely be a "bridge too far" for a fish.

Tom Bricker posted plenty photos of Wishes with his fisheye. I believe he was standing in or near the hub and they look awesome.

I've used a 16-35mm zoom lens from the Wishes FP viewing area (about 50 feet from the partners statue) and that came out perfect for a good ratio of castle to fireworks. I could zoom into 35mm for the castle fireworks themselves plus castle details - then zoom out to 16mm to get all the high bursts.

I shot Wishes in June with a 10-22 with it set around 14mm. It was probably a little too wide as I did have to crop some, but I wanted to make sure that I had as much in frame as possible. I was just in front, and to the right, of the round about with the Partner's Statue next to the small gardens with fountains. It was the least out of the way I could get my tripod plus there was a concrete pillar behind me that I leaned up against. On top of that, there was a huge hanging basket of flowers on top of the pillar so I didn't have any reservations about extending the center column of my tripod to get above the crowd. Here's a sample from my location....

I did shoot Illuminations from Japan with a fisheye though and it turned out as a great choice of lenses.
