I take a Vitamin D every day. I want to start taking Fish Oil.

I have some questions:

What brand do you like? Why?

How much do you take daily?

Does it make you feel better (ie. more energy, happier, etc.)?

Does it make you feell sick to your stomach?

Thank you so much for your help!

I have taken it for about 5-6 years.

I buy it at Costco. Usually their brand (Kirkland), but depends on if there is a coupon for one or not.
1200 mg, one capsule a day.
Doesn't make me feel sick. And no fish taste at all. I hate fish, so I would definitely tell.
Not sure it makes me feel any different. I have taken it for so long. Not going to stop to find out ;)

I can't take fish oil gives me heartburn.......so now I get my omega 3 from salmon and walnuts.

I tried to take fish oil but it gave me terrible diarrhea. Even taking only half the dose gave me diarrhea. DH takes it daily with no side effects, however

It is prescribed for me by my doctor. In yoiur place I would not just assume that it would be good for me to take and just start taking it. Ask your doctor for recommendations. Too much can cause nose bleeds (and did when I made a mistake on dosage and took too much).

Me too! I like the Kirkland brand for the price, and because it is one of the only coated one a day pills I have found- the coating makes it slide down easier and takes away the fishy aftertaste.
I've been taking fish oil daily since 2001, so I can't say now what effect they have on my mood- but when I started, my triglycerides stabilized and and mood lightened, and for the first time in years I felt healthier. I must add that I started fish oil in combination with a triglyceride lowering rx med, and got my synthroid fine tuned at the same time, so my results may be a bit tainted

I too buy the Kirkland brand from Costco. Look fr the "enteric coated" on the label..these are the ones that don't leave a fishy aftertaste. I take most of my vitamins/supplements right before bed.....worked best when I was pg and became nauseous from vitamins and I've just kept with the routine.

For me the fish oil pills helped get rid of my annoying heart palpitations.

A couple yrs ago my doctor put me on Fish Oil 1,000 & CoQ10 100 for cardiovascular, lipid lowering and energy benefits. Also Vit D 2000 for horrible legs cramps I was suffering. Along with the other suppliments I take, I've had very good results as bld work has improved, most of cramping has subsided and I have no ill effects. Thankfully I get them all at 'Costco' for very reasonable prices. :goodvibes

Other than having a bad reaction to the taste or oil itself, chances are good that no noticeable benefits will be realized when taking it. It is one of those stealth things.

We are taking either 1,000mg or 1,200mg pills amounting to 7,000-7,200mg/day as suggested by our Dr. for a total of at least 2,100mg combined EPA-DHA

I take the Nordic naturals omega3 No fish taste. 2x a day.

I also take vitamin D3 2000 a day as directed by a doctor.

I take several types of herbs along w these

I like the idea of getting omega 3 from walnuts because I consider them a treat.

Me too. I love Walnuts! I put them in my oatmeal to make it more like a treat. I wish they didn't have so much fat because I would eat much more. They are a good brain food!

No none of my fish are squeaky! :fish: They never need oiling!

....me too, on ALL counts (well, for about only 3-4 years)....Make sure, though that it's Omega 3, and NOT Omega 6 or 9! I also take B-12, Glucosomine with Condroitin, and Vitamin E...
