Fish Extenders for the Podcast Cruise

I cut fabric today for my FE. No turning back now. So far things are not going exactly as planned, but I think I can pull it off. I have decided to make my FE two sided with a pirate theme on one side. I was having trouble deciding and this way I can do both.

Tracy, how often do people's cabins get changed right before the cruise?

Woo hoo! I completed 80 FE gift packages this morning. Now I'm going to stay in a holding pattern until we see a more "final" count including roommates and all. I have materials to make 20 more, so hopefully with one per cabin and two if there are roommates, we'll come in under 100.

It was fun to make my hometown (Indy) themed FE gifts!!!!

Really hard to say. The people who's rooms have been changing have requested an upgrade or downgrade. When we get closer to the cruise, the category 12 rooms will be assigned. It is around this time when we may see some upgrades.

I had heard people say that our room can change up to sailing date. I figured that was a pretty rare occurence. I figured at about 30 days everyone is pretty much set unless they ask for a change?

It seems that this is the time that most complementary upgrades happen.

Did you use ribbon, or craft cord? How big were the holes Paul drilled? We (I) was planning on having Greg too that too.

I used 3/8" ribbon. I don't know what size drill bit Paul used and he doesn't remember. Sorry.

Thanks for the ribbon info - that's a good start!!! I'll take my FE to Michael's and see what color looks best. I bought a package of dowels, so if one size doesn't work, we'll (uh, he'll) just do it again!

I bought mine last week. I am just doing Mickey Mouse Colors. I hope it turns out good. I am so not crafty. I may have to do my sister's too. I need to double check and see if she still wants to participate.

I ordered more of my fabric on ebay today. I just didn't think I had enough. Luckily I was able to find the same patterns.

I got black, and red polka dots... and yellow for a little color splash. I am going to make my 2 year old a patchwork twirl dress out of the same material.

I'm more nervous about making the FE than I am about making the skirt.

We've been buying the materials/items for our FE gifts. Last week we starting assembling and discovered that part of our gift didn't work. Then we go to add the magnets and discover the ones we bought to attach weren't strong enough--ugh!! Back to shopping this weekend to get stronger magnets, finally have it all figured out. Of course it ended up being quite a bit more money then we were hoping!!!!

i just finished up more FE gifts last night. does anyone know the count average now- are we at like 75 or 80 or something? We originally ordered only 75 or so, so we will have to get something else to fill in for the others.

whoever is doing the spreadsheet- is there anyway to add a column so we can denote which rooms are families and which rooms have individuals that are just bunking together? I want to try my best to leave individual gifts for those rooming together.

I'd like to try and ensure i leave 2 gifts for the folks who are sharing a room, but aren't necessarily related etc. For some couples, we might leave a 'joint' gift and then special treats for kids. We want to avoid giving 'joint' gifts to folks that are bunking, but aren't couples/family. make sense? Can we make a note for that on the worksheet?

not sure how that works if it's a family where 2 people have screen names on here but from what i can tell there are only 2 or 3 cabins that have room mates
