we just paid our deposit and are good to go for the may 10 cruise woo hoo

now - it's 1am and my eyes are crossed from reading so many posts about the cruise when someone posted the link for this one so before i shut my burning eyes for some well deserved sleep....

can someone answer a couple of questions about these fishy thingys

what do you guys do with them? what would i be signing up for? and does everyone on the first post participate?

The list of participants on this thread are those that want to be involved. There are many other cruisers going in this group.

Basically, you put a fish extender outside your door (someone can you get a link to what the fish extender is?) and others in the group will leave you and your family gifts. In exchange, you will get gifts for the people on the list and once during the cruise deliver them to the rooms on the list. It's sounds like a lot of work, but it's really not that bad. Some people are getting together as a group and pooling resourced (both money and ideas) to get a more expensive gift. Some are making them themselves. Others buying them themselves. A good resource for gifts is Oriental Trading Company.

You don't want to spend a lot because we have just over 50 rooms (twice I've done this with over 130 rooms). We've gotten pirate rings, tattoos, pens, bubbles, charms for the lanyards, wine charms, white boards, glow sticks, magnets (tons of magnets!)... All kinds of things!

Some people deliver them only to the rooms on the list. Others will deliver them to all the people in the group. Still others will give them out to everyone at a group gathering (like the Sail Away Party or Pirate Night).

Single post of someone's received gifts. They have more elaborate gifts, in my opinion because there were only 19 cabins exchanging gifts, not 50+.

You made it over here! Hope to see ya on the sign-up list soon. You'll have to make a request on this thread to be placed on it..... by Jan. 31st! As far as FEs go....if you aren't creative, you can check out eBay and get one there. Just search for 'fish extender'. That's what I'm gonna do.
